I got to see it in like February. It was amazing. I feel like it's gone a little under the radar for a lot of people because of kimi no na wa. But i really think it was much better than kimi no na wa! It got me right in the feels.

I actually preferred it to Kimi No Na Wa, I thought the soundtrack, plot and characters were all better...

I saw both this and Your Name in theatre's. This was good overall, but I thought that the story was a tad too predictable and emotionally manipulative and soap opera-ish - it was really engaging, but I don't know if I'd enjoy it as much if I watched it again. I might read the manga, though.

I thought Your Name was a lot better, basically. Gonna buy a copy of that first chance I get.

I thought the movie was really nice, but I think that it wasn't as detailed as they wanted it to be.

After watching the movie i read the manga and it has many more scenes and information that answered many questions I had while watching the movie.

But A Silent Voice is still a nice film and it reminded be a lot of a Makoto Shinkai film, and I love his work!

It is kinda predictable but I thought it was on of the best anime moives beside kimi no na wa! I waited such a lond time to watch it though. It wasn't on any site and it just came out in America even though it was out in japan like last year.

I loved this movie so much but I am telling you to read the manga everything is so much more in depth and when you see the small parts that the movie left out its like wowie wow wow that's crazy (and if the movie didn't make you cry the manga has to)

This movie rocks, not sure which I like better tho, this or kimo no na wa. Definitely both good but I'd say this is more character driven, which is kinda my thing, and your name is more about the photorealistic animation and the way the plot unravels

I preferred Koe no katachi over Kimi no nawa. Like what >>14 said, more character driven, story revolves around the characters' personalities and their problems. For Kimi no nawa u need to understand plenty of symbolism and references frm ancient japan to really appreciate the movie. But for the soundtrack, Kimi no nawa wins hands down~

After it I began to study a language of the deaf.

I remember watching the trailer when it first came out and falling in love with it. I waited several months for the subbed version and for it to release outside of Japan ;n; In that time I read the manga, and I really recommend it for anyone who hasn't read it to read it. It has a lot of scenes that weren't put in the movie, and will probably explain some of the questions you might have after seeing the movie.

Loved the movie, probably my favourite anime movie of all time. I love everything about it. The characters, story, art, soundtrack etc. It was an absolute emotional rollercoaster, I found myself crying and laughing over and over all throughout watching the movie. Whenever I discuss any of the scenes my heart swells. Beautiful movie.

OMG I absolutely loved the manga and surprisingly thought that the movie did it justice. Definitely recommend watching/reading.

I've seen it. It manages to get a lot of good moments from the manga. I still think a anime would have been better, or two films instead of one.
I'm gonna drag some friends with me to see it when it comes to my city

I watched it the first time when it came out in cinemas. I just finished rewatching it.

I remembered how much I completely loved it. I haven't read the manga yet, but I'm going to read it soon, I'm just doing other things at the moment.

It was an awesome movie, even the second time.

Well this is just my opinion:

They really did take out a lot of details from the manga itself..Of course I can't really blame them since they obviously can't fit 7vols worth into a movie..The movie was alright but if you read the manga, I think you'd prefer the manga over the movie..

In my opinion, no matter how good the anime, or movie, the Manga is a different thing entirely.

So, I'm not denying that the manga is good, because I haven't actually read it yet, but it doesn't change the fact that the movie was great.

I loved it because of the emotion that I felt, and the soundtrack, and more of all, the animation.

It was a sweet movie.

Makes me cry every time

I saw this movie... and cried, and went to go read the manga immediately haha XD the manga was better obviously, because there was better character content, but the movie was still really well put together... Would recommend this movie to any person who love movies in general.

I love Koe no Katachi. I cried both times I watched it. But the second time I watched it with my friend, she ruined the sad moments by making jokes and making me laugh.

I was emotionally connected to this movie for my own personal reasons but it made the movie so much more beautifully heartfelt than it already is. I'd love to see more movies like this.

The movie was so damn amazing. I cried and I never cry during movies.

I watched this twice and loved it!! I hardly ever get emotional during movies, but this one made me tear up!

Honestly, I cried from this movie, and even though there wasn't much development to all of the characters (one of them's still being a hypocrite and I don't mean Naoka), it shows that not everyone gets happy at the end. I honestly relate to the main character too, having gone through that traumatic experience will seriously psychologically damage you for sure.

When I watched this movie, I didn't know anything about it other than the fact that the girl was deaf. I had heard about it from a friend and managed to find the entire movie on youtube. It was great and I loved it. I want to show my friend this movie but lately, she's been ignoring me. I haven't been able to talk to anyone about movies like this one and Kimi no na was. I'm also a big fan of Wolf Children and It's bugged me for years since it came out. I haven't been able to express my feelings about it to other people. T_T Its been hard my fellow dollars.

But then when I went to the theaters to watch it, it was quite tear-jerking at the same time eye-opening. Tbh, I watched this movie twice, because it kinda hit me and had a similar experience too. The soundtrack is amazing, and the way they make the characters develop overtime. It's quite marvelous. I cried and realized stuff here and there. I recommend this film! :D

ahh, and I almost forgot. When I heard that it wasn't the full thing (they didn't finish the manga) I got pissed a little but its okay

What would this film's name be exactly? Just that picture itself peeked my interest, but the comments are pushing my curiosity over the edge! I also love movies that make me realize something, but keeps it a secret until just the right moment.

Well, people are right to say that it does feel a bit rushed, but I like to think that it was thoughtfully concise. Of course the manga series will have more of the material, but it still turned out pretty well made. I loved the journey and the tropes equally. Perhaps you'd like to check out the manga series as well just to get more perspective and substance - as if the movie adaptation didn't already break us enough. 10/10, would cry like a child again.

whats funny is the fact that i didnt watch this just because i relate to her. (im also deaf, born deaf really.) but i actually watched this for the art, story, and mostly for the concept. and because of my wonderful and amazing mother, i can hear most of my life because of my cochlear ear plants, or 'ear pieces' as we call them, i can speak fluently as well. and because of my mom i didn't feel out of place and i watched this great movie without even thinking of my deafness until the 40 minute mark. i love my mom.
