What's peops opinions on this new death note movie? I personally love love love the idea of a whole new bung of kiras, I'm just hoping that they'll do death note the justice it deserves

I know this is going to be an entirely different take on the story, and that's what makes it so interesting to me.

Apparently the movie will cover stuff from the first 5 volumes, which means we might see L's demise which would be weird, but I can dig it.

But I'm also really looking forwards to the style. The director really has the whole horror vibe down on his movies and I've always felt that the horror aspect was something the manga/anime was slightly lacking.

Yeah, I honestly think that people are worrying about other people's opinions (it's the Internet who wouldn't be scared) and not giving the movie a chance. You can't really judge the entire film from one short trailer, and honestly, my mum always tells me that the remakes will always be different from the originals. If anything, we should be respecting the movie for what it is.

That's just my opinion though lol

not looking forward to it. when taken out of the context of japanese culture and americanized there's a lot wrong about a white kid with a god complex who's eerily similar to dylann roof minus but instead of a gun he has a magic notebook. not to mention the fact that they take away the little depth that misa already had and her relationship with light.

Mmm, wasn't particularly in love with the trailer or character line-up. Hopefully it isn't going to be as bad as everyone thinks.
