"So sublime, the chase to end all time."

Taken from the first verse of Siouxsie Sioux's haunting single "Love Crime", created for this hit TV series, this line is a perfect one sentence summary for Hannibal.
It is a sublime and terrifying show intimately following the game of cat-and-mouse between a tragic man with an empathy disorder (Will Graham, played by the adorable Hugh Dancy) and the infamous cannibal serial killer Dr Hannibal Lecter (played by the chilling Mads Mikkelsen), based on the novels by Thomas Harris.

With a completed run of three thirteen-episode seasons, this show goes above and beyond. The cinematography and direction is breathtaking in the way it frames both the astoundingly beautiful aesthetic style and horrific violence (often with both captured in the same shot). Music and sound are masterfully conducted to illustrate the mental dissonance and drama of a scene, conveying themes ranging from poetic to clear insanity. The writing in this show is thrilling and always leaves you wanting more no matter how distasteful (haha cannibal puns) or gruesome the events which unfold, and concludes in a way that is both satisfying and poignant. But what's good writing without good actors? The actors here are absolutely fantastic and bring brilliant strength to their characters, able to portray the many shades of grey between society's self-constructed morals of good and evil.

Am I rambling too much? Honestly, I could go on forever talking about how incredibly well done a small show like this is. I personally believe that this show deserved a lot more recognition and viewership during its run because it is so damn amazing.

Spread the love and Eat the Rude!

As nice as this OP is, this thread's a duplicate, dude.

Maybe you could use those writing skills to make some better, non-duplicate threads around here though.

So, uh, yeah. Sage.

>>5 I swear, you must be one of the calmest noobs we've had in a while.

>>4 ...uhhh, random? And weirdly aggressive. You know, thread was here for almost 3 days before you posted that, right?

It has been on top of the board for way longer than usual, though.
