The Call is a 2013 American crime thriller film. I had been anticipating this movie ever since it came out and now that I had the chance to watch it I'm highly disappointed

But first, a brief synopsis: An LAPD 911 operator, Jordan Turner, receives a call from a teenage girl who has just heard a man break into her house. She seems to be saved until the phone line disconnects and Jordan redials her. The man hears the phone answered which blows the girl's cover. Upon hearing that, he goes back to her room and kills her, which emotionally traumatizes Jordan. Jordan feels horrible about what she did and leaves work. When she returns back to work training new 911 operators, one of them receives a call just like Jordan had. Jordan immediately takes charge of the call for herself and doesn't feel up to it, because of what went down the first time. Even though she seemed to be worried, she still went through with the call and from there the suspense and action begins.

Halle Berry as Jordan Turner
Abigail Breslin as Casey Welson
Michael Eklund as Michael Foster

WHY WAS I HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS?! Well, because my mom works in law enforcement so I have a pretty good understanding for how this stuff works (minus most of the operator stuff, but I'm sorry a lot of the operator stuff seemed VERY unrealistic). My mom and I both thought it was pretty unbelievable and it just makes law enforcement and bystanders look extremely stupid. There's a point in the movie where the LAPD has to go all the way to Santa Clarita which is more than an hour away from Los Angeles. See what would really happen is they would inform Santa Clarita police about the stuff, not actually go there without any notification, because what if the girl dies, right? There's parts where the bystanders just make the situation worse and you would think that they would be smarter than that, but no, all bystanders are stupid. What else was stupid. They gave the cops the location of the car at some point and somehow it took them forever to get there, but when they went to the kidnapper's house they got there ASAP. Like how does that even seem right. The ending is so stupid/corny.

I'm sorry but this movie just makes everyone look stupid. It makes you look stupid, it makes the 911 operators look stupid, it makes the cops look stupid, it makes the kidnapper look stupid, it makes the victim look stupid. Everyone looks stupid.

One thing I will tell you is that the action is good and so is the suspense, still pretty obvious what's going to happen a lot of the time, but there's always that cringe you get when you see someone get stabbed even if the movie sucks.

If you're like me and my mom, watch this shit to pick it up apart and laugh at it. It'll amuse you! Oh, man, if you do watch this shit. Good luck with how it ends. Again corniest ending ever. So dissatisfactory. 3/10 Here's the trailer that makes it look awesome
