The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a 1974 slasher film that has sequels, a remake, and a prequel. There's basically a whole franchise complete with a video game based on the movie and some comics as well.

Well, if you haven't watched this movie/the remake or heard about it, the movie is basically about five friends who are taking a trip to visit the main character, Sally's, grandfather's grave. After that, they go back on the road to go visit the old home the main character's father owns. On their way there, they pick up a hitchhiker who talks about his family who works at the slaughterhouse. He soon starts becoming weird and creepy and they kick him out of the car. They head to a gas station to refill, but their is no gas, so they still head to their destination, the home. When they finally get there, it is abandoned. Soon, two of the friends decide to go for a swim and as they go to the path that takes them to the swimming pool, they do not find a swimming pool, but the house of Leatherface. From there, you can guess what happens.

Marilyn Burns as Sally Hardesty
Paul A. Partain as Franklin Hardesty
Allen Danziger as Jerry
William Vail as Kirk
Teri McMinn as Pam
Gunnar Hansen as Leatherface
Edwin Neal as Nubbins Sawyer (the hitchhiker)
Drayton Sawyer (the old man/the cook)

I really do recommend watching this. It's absolutely gruesome. It's to the point where you can't even believe that it's fake. It was great acting. You really must give props to the actors of this film, especially the main character, because even though it's fake, she was able to play her role so well that you could almost think it was real.

I really do not want to spoil this for you, but this movie is so sick. To think that someone could do this, that's terrifying! Also guys, disregard what I'm about to say when watching the movie, but this was not a real story! Even so, it was so life-like. I was talking about this with my mom and she herself even said she thought it was so real, it could have been like the killer let them film it! The movie was really just inspired by the murderer and body snatcher Ed Gein. He also inspired other scary movies like Silence of the Lambs and Psycho.

I think it's more scary because it's realistic and also it has a background. You know why these kids are here and it's basically like a "wrong place at the wrong time" kind of thing. Some scenes were just so raw. I loved the opening, too. Just that alone is really chilling. Makes you wonder what's about to happen and truly draws you in. The ending, too. Really great ending, but I can't spoil it for you.

You really need to just sit down one of these nice October nights (or mornings if you're an easily scared person) and watch it.

Here's the trailer

Oh, I actually found it online, but who knows how long it'll be on there until youtube finds it and takes it off. Watch now before it goes! Here have fun

My rating is 9.5/10 (There are just some continuity issues. That's about it).
