I'm not sure where you're getting your movies, but most ones you can buy in HD. If you're getting them free illegally then of course the quality will suffer, but if you're purchasing them from websites like amazon i'm pretty sure they offer at least 720p quality.

Actually even if they are free and illegal they can still be of good quality it just depends on the website you use
