When You're Strange is a 2009 documentary about the Doors with photographs and footage of the band. It is narrated by Johnny Depp.

The documentary is mainly about Jim Morrison, but it does talk about the Doors as well as how the Doors worked around Jim's alcoholism and his performances (which were getting more and more outrageous, because of the alcohol). Not only that it also showcases the free love movement and other events that occurred during the 60's. We really get a feel for who Jim was in this movie. We see past Jim the rock star and more into Jim the poet.

Here's the movie. I couldn't find another one for free, so you'll just have to bear with the spanish subtitles. Enjoy. It's very short 1 hour and a half. You won't even notice.

Yo Lovely, I get that you're really into these guys, but this is the third separate thread you've made about the Doors over the last few months. I sort of understand having a movie and a band thread, but this is overkill, don't you think?

I dunno, I just don't think this merited its own thread. It's probably never gonna get bumped, and the description is a bit undercooked as well. I think that, as a post, it would have been a good excuse to bump the band thread in music.

Aren't they two separate things??? Like, I get it does seem like a lot, but it's the same as if I were posting a bunch of movies on the same subject or if I was posting threads on remakes or sequels of different movies. I don't really see the problem with it imo. Sorry. =/

It just seems to me that three different threads heavily related to the same band is too many. It's kind of like the difference between making an all-encompassing harry potter movie thread and making a thread for each film.

The Doors movie kind of has a life as its own film, whereas this one's a documentary about the Doors.
