I'm quite surprised that nobody's been posting something about this great TV show here yet.

It is originally and Irish-Canadian TV show, from the channel History. As its title indicates, the story tells us about the viking age. We follow the mythical hero Ragnar Lothbrok in his rising in social hierarchy and raids in England. I can't really tell anything more because I don't want to spoil anybody who might want to watch it.

I really, really enjoy this show. To be honest I wasn't particularly convinced by the first episodes but then I really got hooked on it. What's really interesting, and I guess quite rare in the few works of fiction (or non fiction) on vikings is that this show puts the viewer in the position of the vikings, we are on their side. We get lots of details about their religions, way of life, of fighting, of organising their hierarchy etc... From what I've read, it's quite faithful to what they really were. We're not stuck from a very biased Christian point of view which is great. I find their religion, gods and mythology truly fascinating. I think anyone who's interested in learning more about vikings (and in enjoying a TV show of very good quality) should definitely give it a shot !

I agree with you! It will be well liked by people who wants to see intense action and violence, mixed together in a single realistic series. For those who haven't watched this masterpiece yet, I urge you now to try watching it. It'll be worth your while.

Yeah very true !
Also, you speak about violence, I just want to precise that, obviously there is violence but no gore stuff. It's filmed and edited in a way that doesn't show you the too disgusting parts, instead it is shown quite beautifully I think. The point is not to shock or stuff like that, which is great I think.

Aah I thought it would have been more popular among Dollars aha. Disappointed now that I can't talk about this amazing show here.
