Teaser was awesome. Definitely got me more excited for the movie.

Still skeptical, but hopeful!

I was a little worried at first. Honestly, the first 30 seconds of the trailer made it feel like it was fan-made or a parody. But once they showed those next-gen X-Wings, I knew all was right with the world. Then that last scene... I don't think I could be more excited for this movie.

I need a history lesson again about it all though :/ like the origin of the sith and jedi. Did the sith emperor really live millenias? And what artifacts could have been left behind that can lead to "The Awakening" please some help?

Hopeful for this next trilogy.

>>9 This was pretty much my reaction. At first I wanted nothing to do with these new movies, but then I saw the trailers. This may be sacrilege, but I think VII has the potential to be the best Star Wars movie yet.

I'm so excited for this movie to come out, I GOT TO WATCH IT!!!!๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

15 Name: B Rabbit : 2015-07-16 11:35 ID:hP8UIUlC [Del]

I'm gonna watch it but... I don't know if it will be good. I mean, Gorge Lucas directed Star Wars 1-3 and those sucked. Star Wars 4-6 were good. Especially for the time. And I don't even like the franchise that much lol.

I heard that JJ Abrams ( I think that's how you spell his name) is a big fan of Star Wars but we never know. It's ethier going to be really good or really bad.

17 Name: Pickel : 2015-07-22 14:28 ID:jAyE9apZ [Del]

I think it'll be really good, but if it's not, I'm confident it will at least be better than the prequels. I don't think I hate them as much as some people do, but I still think they're essentially the worst you can do with the Star Wars franchise and still have it make sense. Basically they're rock bottom, but definitely not the worst rock bottom overall.

I am so excited for this movie!!!!!! I've been a huge fan of Star Wars for a very long time! Looking forward to this! :D

Saw it today. I'm not a huge Star Wars fan (I'll just go ahead and be honest with that right now), but overall I thought the movie was really good. Anyway this is my comment/bump since it was the release. Let the fan ravings begin.

FUCK YOU RECAPTCHA IM TOO TIRED FOR THIS SHIT

Movie was pretty great. I left the theater totally satisfied.

Also I got a free movie ticket coz the 3D was fucked. But that has nothing to do with it.

btw supposedly unexpected death scene was actially totally expected death scene sorta

New characters were likable. I could totallly follow Fin and thay british chick around for another couple of movies. Also that one guy who looks kinda like Bruce Campbell.

Also, apparently Darth Vader was Luke's father. Who knew, right?

I really enjoyed the movie, the new characters were amazing. It was equally funny and full of a lot of good action. I really like how Rey was played out as a character, too.
I'm looking forward to the next movie, with an ending like that.

The movie itself was great, and I'm actually about to see it a second time, but as far as advertising and merchandise go, I think Rey didn't get near enough attention.

The movie is great, I highly recommend it.

I finally watched the movie so now I can't read e thread without fear of spoilers yay(*^o^*) I really liked it but the story line seemed repetitive like ANOTHER FREAKIN DEATH STAR REALLY!?!?!?!

28 Name: Arch : 2016-01-05 06:16 ID:l1CrCKUt [Del]

It was better than I expected and the new characters were refreshing to watch. It was also nice to see some of the old characters haha

As someone who grew up on the originals, the plot of the movie was not really something I enjoyed. I seen no reason for Han/Luke/Leia to split up as they did, even after they what they went through. Like they fought so hard just to stay together anyways? And it was just really repetitive and it felt like they were just trying to recreate the originals. Now I did really enjoy the characters. I really loved them actually. So I'm basically ignoring the movie's canon but accepting the characters, lol

Addendum: If Luke was going to up and disappear why would he leave a map of where he was going? Did they ever specify that it was a map to the place he was planning on going cause I just remember them calling it a map to Luke. Besides, what would they have done if he wasn't there? After going through all that bs for the map like omg

31 Name: Lurker : 2016-01-06 04:52 ID:HnlwtGrz [Del]

>>29
Han and Leia temporarily split up just because of evil son drama. Leia had a Resistance to lead and Han was probably just looking for his son as well as his piece of junk spaceship.

Yes, the homages to the original trilogy are both just fanservice as well as intentional foreshadowing which has led many fans to come up with theories that Rey is either Obiwan's granddaughter or Luke's daughter just because (1) she lived in a desert planet raised by Simon Pegg's character after her parents presumably died, (2) Han made a comment that Chewie likes her which was a callback to Chewie liking Luke, (3) hints that Han knows who Rey really is as well as (4) Leia giving Rey a familiar hug in the end, and of course (5) those Force visions.
>>30
Yes, that was the whole point of the map. Luke went into hiding because of the evil nephew drama but left a map of where he was crashing just in case things start *light*ing up a bit or if he is really really needed. Basically angst vacation.

Jedi, just like the ones of old, are very good at running away and hiding in remote planets.

>>29 To be fair, the few last times they tried to do something new with Star Wars, most people ended up hating it. The throwbacks to the original trilogy were obvious and a little too blatant at points, but you can see why they did it; wouldn't wanna disappoint legions of (already skeptical) fans again, right?

Plus, we know they're making at least two more movies, may as well play it safe and start out with a crowdpleaser.

As for Han and Leia, I wouldn't have expected them to stay together long anyway after ROTJ, but that's just the impression I got of them.

As for the map to Luke... meh. Sound logic has never really been Star Wars' strong point. There are a bunch of dumb plot conveniences in the originals as well, why question it now, eh?

I agree with your way of thinking, although we must admit, it wasn't that bad.
Yes feedback is good, but don't become drama Queens please.

>>33 That post was actually a rebuttal to >>29/>>30, so yeah. I'm actually defending the movie here.

You can talk about the flaws in a movie without disliking it, you know. I really enjoyed TFA.
