In the not-too-distant future there is widespread famine; armies have been disbanded and life has regressed into farm-based economies. The Earth's atmosphere has become rich in nitrogen but poor in oxygen, and soon global starvation will give way to global asphyxiation.

Cooper (Matthew McConaughey), a widower, is a former NASA test pilot who still dreams of flight. He and his two children, Tom (Timothée Chalamet), 15, and Murphy (Mackenzie Foy), 10, struggle to survive.

Meanwhile, Professor Brand (Michael Caine), a brilliant physicist, and his team, including his scientist daughter (Anne Hathaway) have two potential plans to save mankind, but only one involves saving the six-billion plus people on Earth.

this movie was insane. if you haven't seen it, I STRONGLY urge you to.

I'm waiting until it's available for Redbox or Amazon Instant Video, but I honestly can't wait to watch it. The whole interstellar travel thing seems cheesy imo, but I won't judge until I've seen the movie. :P

I like this awesome movie.

I went to go see it but when I heard it was 3 hours long or so I decided not to. But an amazing movie to go see is Big Hero 6

I love Interstellar even though is 3hours long...can't wait for the DVD to come!

I watched it recently. It was really a beautiful movie, but so long ...

That film is SO GOOD. Though I would have preferred a more hopeless, dystopic ending, it was very well delivered as it is. The visuals are simply gorgeous and the music helps to put you in the mood.
Also, I personally think the story stresses very important topics regarding humanity, the universe and our future as a species.

Am I the only one who thought that the end of the movie would be soooo much better if it ended with Cooper lost forever in that 6th dimension, or maybe if the last scene was simply he getting away from there? The scene where he finally gets together with his daughter was so... meh. Also I believe it would be better if the destiny of Amelia Brand was kept in the imagination of the public, so that you could decide if you'd want her to find her love in that planet and live forever there by his side, or if you rather believe that she spent the rest of her life alone, or even if you want her to be saved, as the movie showed us.
Despite this, this movie was AWESOME. While I was watching it I didn't even realise it was so long, I was completely absorbed on its drama and marveled with its amazing special effects.

I'm head over heels about this movie! I really enjoyed every little bit of it, and I even felt the urge to read the book "The Science of interstellar" from the scientist behind the idea of the movie, It's a complete Masterpiece IMHO.

I can agree on that this is one of the best Nolan films and that it shows the theoretical possibilities on traveling through space and its consequences
