You know those stupid movies you watch with your friends and a giant bowl of popcorn just so you can lose a few brain cells and laugh about it? Well, this is one of them.
"Tusk is a 2014 American horror comedy-drama film written and directed by Kevin Smith, based on a story from his SModcast podcast. The film stars Michael Parks, Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment, Génesis Rodríguez, and Johnny Depp. The film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, before it was released on September 19, 2014, by A24 Films. The film is intended to be the first in Smith's planned True North Trilogy."
Tusk is about a man named Wallace who co-stars with his best friend, Teddy, on a podcast called "The Not-See Paty" (yes that's right). Wallace travels around interviewing people for funny stories to share on the podcast. However, when in Canada hoping to interview someone, he comes across a message from a man wishing to tell his stories. He meets this man, Howard Hoe, and then sadly (or not) gets drugged and turned into a walrus.
This movie was written not to be taken seriously by any means, but it still has its moments of suspense and starts off seemingly in the horror direction. In the comedy sense, this movie is pretty great.
