One Christmas Eve in present day Tokyo, three homeless people — Gin, a middle-aged alcoholic, Hana, a trans woman and former drag queen, and Miyuki, a runaway girl — discover an abandoned newborn while searching in some trash. Deposited with the unnamed baby is a note asking the finder to take good care of her and a bag containing clues to the parent's identity. The trio sets out to find the baby's parents. The baby is named Kiyoko, literally meaning "pure child" as she is born on Christmas Eve.
The director of this movie,Satoshi Kon,Is also the director of "Paprika"
Basically the movie follows their journey to find the baby's parent's while you get to know more about each of the three character's back stories. The movie's also full of amazing plot twists. I also didn't expect it to be but this movie is quite filled with funny and sad moments especially when it comes to the back stories.

This movie is golden. I watched it first when I was twelve, it was great. It only gets better the older you get. 9/10, would recommend to anyone.

This is probably my favorite Satoshi Kon film in how comediacally chaotic it is. From the crazy situations our characters get into just to find the baby's parents to the shocking twists and the amount of depth the characters get, this film was just one delightfully wild ride.

i just watched this in anime club today, and i've gotta say, it was a pretty darn good movie. those plot twists. :) and it balances the funny with the serious pretty well i'd say.

This movie is amazing! Each fragment of this film comes together to form the beautiful masterpiece that Tokyo Godfather's really is. Satoshi Kon will always have my respect for this such creative and gorgeous film. I agree with every detail that Nina sayd in her/his avaliation of the movie

Oh...this movie was really funny! It was so heart warming and how they tried to protect the baby. It was overall really touching.
