Has anyone seen (and actually understood) this movie? I couldn't find another thread about it, and it is one of the most brilliant movies I have ever watched.

Pffft, as if anyone could fully understand that movie. Even still I enjoyed though, there was some great acting in it. But I'm guessing the most important part was when they were in like the 80s to 90s and the woman found info on the guy that was on the ship or the guy that was with the pianist producing work for him. I may be wrong I got it alittle mixed up in the middle. And the the future was connected with the future future. Yeah, I might be getting it a little majorly mixed up,so I guess I'm not much help.

This is the gayyissh movie i ever seen ,, 3 stories combine in one movie. but its good so i recommend it ..

They all intertwine. There is also a lot of symbolism and allegory. For example "The Cloud Atlas sextet" was incorporated into all the arcs.

When I first watched it I didn't understand one bit of it, but as I watched it again, I started to get a few things, I guess it's the kind of movie where you get to discover/understand a new thing every time you rewatch it, and that's what is awesome 'bout it I guess

Understanding? If you're talking about the plot, there wasn't really a lot to understand. If you're talking about purpose... I don't think the film really has one.

It was fun to watch, which is pretty good for a 3-hour movie. I'd give it a 7/10.

The Wachowskis call themselves gamers and they don't play Dark Souls.
This movie blows.

I understood that the allegory >>4 of this movie touch a lot of topics... but I don't think about reincarnation >>9 'cause every character has is own personality, there's a chain, but they are different entities.

The entire movie is about the condemnation of these topics:

"Letters from Zedelghem" (1936) - homophobia

"Half-Lives: The First Luisa Rey Mystery" (1973) - pollution and political corruption

"The Ghastly Ordeal of Timothy Cavendish" (2012) - abusive nursing homes

"An Orison of Sonmi~451" (2144) - recycle of proteins for masses

"Sloosha's Crossin' an' Ev'rythin' After" (2321) - blind-believing

Admittedly, I did not understand the movie when I first saw it. The stories seemed random and, in honesty, bored me. However, if you have the patience to read the novel it is based off of, everything will make sense.

It's funny. When I first heard about this movie, it was my coworker telling me about this amazing movie trailer.He was saying it was about reincarnation.....so I decided to check out the trailer. I, of course, fell in love. I don't know what I was expecting when I watched the movie the first time.....but it blew my mind. The movie wasn't about reincarnation....but it was about how the things we do can affect the future. Not only that, but each arch had it's own theme that shown beautifully and got the point across.
