Okay, Jeff Bridges, Kevin Spacey, George Clooney, any of these names pop a film boner for you yet? If not, you have something seriously wrong with your movie penis, guys.
The film follows Ann Arbor Daily Telegram reporter Bob Wilton (Ewan McGregor), whose wife leaves him for the newspaper's editor. Seeking an escape, Bob flies to Kuwait to report on the Iraq War and to prove to his wife and himself that he is a man. However, he stumbles onto the story of a lifetime when he meets a retired U.S. Army Special Forces operator, Lyn Cassady (George Clooney), who reveals that he was part of a U.S. Army unit training psychic spies (or "Jedi Warriors") to develop a range of parapsychological skills including invisibility, remote viewing, and phasing. The back story is told mainly through flashbacks.
This is a comedic war film. It has some extremely interesting points about the US military hidden in there too, however. Honestly, I would watch this just for the actors, it has an absolutely amazing cast. But this movie is more than great acting, it has one of the most original war story ideas that I have ever seen; the jokes are satirical and witty, and the characters are all eccentric and developed. This is seriously one of my favourite movies, guys. I have seen it like 4 times. I know a lot of people on this site usually wouldn't go for this genre but I highly recommend it. Keep in mind however that this does not dictate true events, if you want a really interesting case study of the US military's research into the paranormal, read the book of the same name. The book is quite different, completely biographical and really interesting.
Being super srs here. This movie is a must watch.

I liked this movie well enough, although I don't really remember too much of it. Without reading that (freakin' awesome) description, I believe that in it Ewen McGreggor was a journalist, Jeff Bridges was an awesome army version of The Dude and The Cloon (everyone should call him that) was some kind of insane army guy whot was so lethal that he could supposedly kill goats just by staring at them.
Maybe it's worth a rewatch.
