I've only seen The Hunger Games quite recently but instantly got hooked on the story (actually I wanted to read the book first, but then I didn't wanted to wait anymore and finally read the book right after watching the movie). And now I began (and nearly finished) reading Catching Fire and I'm really looking forward to the movie. Who else ?

Yup I'm almost at the end of Mockingjay now (I wanted not to read too fast as I did with Catching Fire because I think I'm just gonna depress when it ends..), hope I won't be disappointed by the end..

Oh you didn't like the first movie ?

I'm curious to see why you didn't like the end now... I hope it won't influence my own reaction.

I am looking forward to this movie, though I still can't find chemistry between the actors who play the role of Katniss and Peeta. Don't you think?

I finally ended reading the third book this morning. And.. well the thing that disappointed me the most (spoil now ->) is that Katniss doesn't even get to reach Snow's mansion because she gets caught by fire because of the bombs.. I mean, almost everytime she's about to get into some action she gets badly hurts and it ends there for her. It sounds as if the author didn't know how to write the overthrowing of Snow so Katniss is hurt and we can't have the details. Even on Prim's death.
Well, for the real end.. I think Katniss got a bit mad, I mean, I understand what she did (killing Coin) but she was changed so much by everything that happened to her..

But I loved the three books. And can't wait for the movies.

Loved the books, but the ending felt like a write off... Haven't seen the movie yet as I fear it won't live up to the books. Opinions?

>>11 Yeah, I'd like to know about that before I watch the rest of the movies too. Some things in the first one I found kind of confusing.

i really didn't like the the hunger games, i think that it was really slow. same with catching fire, i didn't even finish the book. i haven't watched the movie [the hunger games] yet, that might be different.

>>11 I didn't have any problems for the movie. I think it was well made and enough faithful to the book.

>>14 What did you find confusing ?

>>15 Oh really ? I don't understand your opinion because I didn't think the same while reading it but, well why not. Maybe you think it's too slow because there are a lot of details in the beginning, when they're in the Capitol and they have training and all ?
I liked that, and found it rather too fast on the contrary. Well, I mean, I read it so easily.

Okay, time for my long winded opinion.

Hunger games was okay, as far as the trilogy goes. not the best, but also not the worst is the series. Lets put it at my second favorite.

Lets all just agree that Mockingjay was a cop-out.[SPOILER!!!SPOILER!!!SPOILER!!!SPOILER!!!] Killing prim was uneeded. Prim could have easily lived as well as she died. Just let her move in with mom or someone. Suzanne collins just got lazy and rushed the whole book. Not killing Snow was absolutely infuriating to me. She could have killed him a thousand ways after killing Coin. But I digress because that was a very pivital point in the book.

And speaking of pivital points in the series, Gales departure could have been done much more gracefully than one sentence "He moved to district 2 to get a job". Allbeit I slightly condensed it there, thats all that he got. A very important charecter in the series leaves with one sentence. Again another cop-out which made me legitimately throw the book against the wall. Although it was finished very artfully and I appreciate the series very much.

Now for actual movie talk, it should be split in two. Now maybe you dont agree with me and maybe you do, but if you dont just hear me out here. There is way too much shit going on before the quarter quell to compress it all into one movie. They should cut it off when the Girl on Fire is surrounded by water and leave it at that.

But in regards to the first movie....you know what really grinds mah gears? When they totally change how she gets the mockingjay pin. Ohhhh i almost popped a cap then and there in the Mjr.

Now in ranking of the books?

1st-Catching fire
2nd-Hunger Games
3rd-Mockingjay .-.

....and thats all I've got to say about that.

>>17 Well that was interesting and I guess I definitely agree with eveyrthing you said.
I didn't think about it at first, but yes I agree that it would have been better if they made 2 movies with Catching Fire.. but only Mockingjay will get 2 movies.

And.. well since I agree I don't have much more to say. :>
