"I have lost something. I’m not exactly sure what it is, but I know I didn’t always feel this… sedated. But you know what? It’s never too late to get it back."
Lester and Carolyn Burnham are on the outside, a perfect husband and wife, in a perfect house, in a perfect neighborhood. But inside, Lester is slipping deeper and deeper into a hopeless depression. He finally snaps when he becomes infatuated with one of his daughter's friends.
A movie about little people's little lives coming to a turning point. It's beautiful and meaningful and pretty much one of my favorites. Also Kevin Spacey is great.

Thread already exists. Nice.
I finally watched this movie today after much procrastination. I loved it, it's one of the best experiences I've had watching a movie in some time.
It reminded me a little bit of the Paul Thomas Anderson movie Magnolia, it had a really similar feel, like really off and kinda sweet at the same time, and then at the end everything's all fine, and then it's all fucked up again. I can't say I enjoyed it more, but still, this is now one of my favourite movies.

This film always manages to get me.
Kevin Spacey has to be one of the best subtle actors of all time.
