A new HBO drama series by Aaron Sorkin, centered around disillusioned, cynical news anchor Will McAvoy (played by Jeff Daniels) and the behind-the-scenes efforts of their news station, ACN, attempting to reclaim journalism from the brainlessness of mainstream media.
It's a very thought provoking series that airs every Sunday (so far there are 4 episodes). It's set in 2010, going over past events such as the tea party movement and the BP oil spill (I would say "spoiler alert" but that would be retarded). It goes over a lot of themes regarding mainstream thought on politics and the media in general: how Americans tend to be rather ignorant to worldly problems and how those in control of information tend to obfuscate them in the first place for public appeal.
There's even relationship drama on the side, it's a fun time for the whole damned family. If you're not sold on watching it, I suggest you at least watch the
opening scene. It's less than 5 minutes long, and it's what hooked me into watching it in the first place.
