A new TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) movie is in the works! This will not be a sequel to the other four films, it will be a reboot of the film series. It will be directed by Jonathan Liebesman and produce by Michael Bay. Bay revealed that the Turtles will be from an alien race. Not sure how this idea will turn out, most fans didn't like it.

So, any opinions? I don't like the alien origin, but I'll see it anyway. I have the other 4 films, so I'll buy it when it comes out. There's no word on the visual direction, so I'm hoping it'll be live action/CGI. I'm hoping this will be great, as the live action ones(IMO) were mediocre, and the CGI one in 2007 was good. So, discuss!

P.S. The release date is set to be December 25th, 2013.

Ninja Turtles was created by 1 person (not too long ago), and they are mutant, not Aliens. It's disrespectful to change their race/genetics. If anything, he could remake it good, if he sticks to the original series. Not make up his own shit.

In my honest opinion, Michael Bay is a shit film maker.
So I have no doubt that this "reboot" of one of my favorite

I liked a few of his movies, but will utterly hate this one, because it's not meant to be Aliens.

It's like telling the creator "Fuck you, they aren't Mutants!" even though Michael Bay didn't create the Ninja Turtles. I feel he has no right to change the whole "Genetics" of the story, because he wants them to be aliens. The fucking name alone says "Mutant". It's super disrespectful to the creator, the staff, and the fans.

It was reported that production for this project has been shut down. The release date has been pushed back five months, the work stoppage for the film was said to be "indefinite". Other sources say that the film will be released on May 16, 2014 due to script problems.
