Dark Shadows (25)

1 Name: Zombie-girl : 2012-04-21 09:51 ID:ktFP3pgi [Del]

In the year 1752, Joshua and Naomi Collins, with young son Barnabas, set sail from Liverpool, England to start a new life in America. But even an ocean was not enough to escape the mysterious curse that has plagued their family. Two decades pass and Barnabas (Johnny Depp) has the world at his feet-or at least the town of Collinsport, Maine. The master of Collinwood Manor, Barnabas is rich, powerful and an inveterate playboy...until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green). A witch, in every sense of the word, Angelique dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire, and then burying him alive. Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin. The dysfunctional remnants of the Collins family have fared little better... Written by Warner Bros. Pictures

I'm cautiously excited about this movie. I remember watching the show with my Grandmother when I was little and the nostalgia is nice but, it seems they changed it a lot from what I remember.

>>3 the nightmare before christmas is one of the best tim burton movies that i've seen besides edward scissorhands and corpses bride.

there was an episode of face off (syfy channel) where they had to make a tim burton chacater for an up coming movie or something. it was a good episode.

I have to say this wasn't a very good movie, in my opinion it isn't exactly the best Tim Burton movie and deserves something higher than PG-13. I'm not disclosing any details.

I thought this was a pretty good movie. I liked the plot, most of the characters, and I liked the humor. Though I believe some parts of the film were forced. I would say but I don't want to reveal spoilers.

For once, I actually preferred a superhero movie over most of the alternatives. Although I really wanted to see The Raven...
I haven't really liked Tim Burton since I saw Nightmare Before Christmas. And since Willy Wonka, I just haven't been able to say that I was ever a Tim Burton fan.
Sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings, but the new Willy Wonka just did not compare to the older movie with Gene Wilder.

No fucking movie will beat originals. Why else remake it, if not for the nostalgic feeling it creates?

I don't know...I guess I'll go see it but the Burton/Depp bromance is getting old.

Almost every big name movie director, always will have someone in it from other movies. It's like how Adam Sandler *SP* always has the same people, in his movies, at-least somewhere.

19 Name: zombie-girl : 2012-05-19 12:30 ID:7vgSoVLm [Del]

>>18 most of us don't care whose been in the same films like the adam sandler movies. as long as others think they're great. they're gonna keep making them. so why complain about it.

this is just a mockery of the original soap opera that was on tv when my parents were kids. not watching it. johnny depp, go do something serious for once.

21 Name: zombie-girl : 2012-05-19 13:04 ID:7vgSoVLm [Del]

>>20 being an actor is johnny depp's job. so he is gonna be serious about it. no matter what.

Are you retarded, or something? Can you not read a comment without jumping to some fucking conclusion?
Where the fuck did it say I was complaining?
I was explaining to someone who WAS complaining. For the love of God, learn to read.

>>18>>19>>20>>21>>22 Whoa whoa whoa. Time out guys.

Thiamor, I was kind of complaining, but it was my opinion on the film and the other films involving Burton and Depp. I hardly think you need to "explain" anything to me. I know that most people cast the same people. It happens all the time and no one doesn't do it at least once. I was only saying that I am getting tired of the Burton/Depp collaborations. You know...as an opinion, man.

Zombie-girl, while I think you are a rad chick with great taste you need to relax sometimes. Take a chill pill. No need to get all worked up on the internet, bro-steeze.

Anyways, I've never seen the original so I have no idea how the two compare but I went and saw it last night. It actually wasn't terrible.

>>23 yeah i know i get all worked up when i'm on the internet. but thanks for the compliments. (sorry about the spelling guys) :/ and i haven't seen the original either. i'm excited to see it, but i have to wait till it comes out on dvd. but i tend to wait for a lot or movies too.
