The Secret World of Arriety is the newest Studio Ghibli/Hayao Miyazaki film; it came out 17 February in the United States. Based off of the book The Borrowers by Mary Norton, the film is about a family of "four-inch-tall people who live anonymously in another family's residence, borrowing simple items to make their home" (
IMDb).
Has anyone else seen it? Thoughts?

I just saw it Sunday, i really liked the film. I cant wait for the next Ghibli film.

it was good. the colors really stood out in the theater. i hope Disney releases another Ghibli film in theaters soon

I read the Borrowers, it was pretty good. The movie was excellent, I just saw it yesterday. Not the best Miyazaki movie, but it was still great.

I saw this the day it came out and it was pretty good. The movie can be a bit slow at certain parts but overall it still did a good job. I think the funniest character in the film was Arietty's mom, she is just hilarious whenever she worries or overreacts to something.

I might go see it in the near future, right now I'm gearing up for Act of Valor. I saw most of Spirited Away and liked it, since this is by the same guy I'll give it a shot.

I enjoyed this film, but like some of the others said, the ending could have been better.

I have to say it's not the newest Studio Ghibli film because that one is "Kokurikozaka kara" witch came out on 2011, either is miyazaki's latest one because he directed Ponyo and then worked on the script of Arriety and finally "Kokurikozaka kara".
With that said I agree with you guys that the ending was a little off but the rest of the movie is really enjoyable. It's a really cute film and the artwork is excelent :)

It was good! I saw it with my friend, but everyone else in the theater were around six years old...it felt a little bit awkward.

i saw it with my mother (who hates anime) and i thought it was my favorite movie (before the hunger games) and i loved the idea of little people. the music wasnt the best but i felt really sad in the end when she had to leave.

I enjoyed it, but it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I had gotten way to pumped for it. It felt like it was just lacking something... it would have been better if it was longer I think...
