Repo! The Genetic Opera a 2008 horror rock-opera directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II,II,IV,Mother's Day Remake. etc.) directs this film based of the same play he and Terrance Zdunich wrote and composed. Originally conceived as a trilogy it is currently stuck in limbo due to some poor reviews and almost no marketing. Having said that though it is a cult classic that is slowly gaining a lot of support. Some even compare it to The Rocky Horror (Picture)Show, both being movies originally based off plays, that slowly built up a huge fan base. Like The Rocky Horror Picture show some specialty movie theaters will even do shadow cast renditions where they have actors and the audience act with the movie playing in the background. With continued support for a growing cult status it is the hope of Bousman and crew that they will be able to finish their story. They also add a comic book style to it in which certain scenes are like reading a comic book (fun fact).
