A Christmas Story (5)

1 Name: The Doctor : 2011-12-15 10:08 ID:52nEeYog [Del]

I've enjoyed this movie every year around Christmas. Along with home alone, and how the Grinch stole Christmas. The best part of it is that it shows how kids were raised in the good old days. Now, all the stuff in the movie would be considered child abuse,(the soap in the mouth, spanking, yelling, bully fights). And also the incredible racism at the end, where they're at the Chinese restaurant and singing deck the halls. Freaking hilarious!
Sorry about how I put that, but it is demanded in today's politically correct world.

Oh man.. I remember not appreciating this movie enough when I was younger. My parents would always get us together to watch it around christmas time and my brother and I would do an astounding job of not giving a fuck, since it was one of those older movies. I guess it was because it was kind of shoved in our faces, but I haven't really watched it all the way through since - it really is a classic, in hindsight. I was probably too young to appreciate it.

Need to go back and watch it again soon, if only to not be a culture-deprived hypocrite.

My favorite thing to say about that movie is that a child doesn't want some piece of commercialized propaganda, but instead heed rather want a weapon.

I was almost named Ralphie after that movie. My family also have a Leg Lamp. It's a major award you know.

I fucking love this movie.
I watched it with my brother a couple of Christmases back. Every single part of this movie made me cry with laughter.

The only thing about the movie is that I they don't sell it on DVD down in Australia. Doesn't matter though, it's on every year at Christmas.
