It's based on a true story ....a kid graduates high school and decided to travel to Alaska without much money and no car. He's very well versed in literature and surviving in the wild. It was directed by Sean Penn and musically scored by Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam. Made for teens on up!

Oh yeah, I just read the book about 2 months ago. Pretty deep stuff.
Loved the movie, personally thought the casting was great. It's crazy how someone would just abandon most of their belongings and tramp around the US. I would at least bring money along with me if I ever had to take an epic jouney like Chris McCandless.
