I know the anime already has a thread on the films board, but in my opinion, the manga far surpasses the anime. Especially everything after the part where Aogiri Tree captures Kaneki.

So far I've bought and read up to volume 3 (as that's all that's out). At this point, I agree with you fully. In my opinion, the manga is far better than the anime
and definitely worth your while! Plus, the manga seems to have a little more Hide, which I greatly approve!

Holy shit the manga is getting so good. Not many understand the dark implications and psychologically distressing themes in the manga which makes me feel slightly alienated when discussing it. Tokyo Ghoul is a masternpiece and the author Ishida-sensei is a genius. I wonder what goes on in his mind to get all these ideas.

tokyo ghoul is literally a masterpiece (even though i don't agree with it all the time ahaha) the story is so well thought out-- its a shame that the anime was,,,,bad. compared to the manga at least ;v;

OMG i LOVE TOKYO GHOUL. I've watched it twice and i really want to buy the manga so i highly recommend it.

Seriously, why don't the people here appreciate TG(:re) more? (´｀;) ？ It's such a well-drawn, intense series! Sure, gore is not for everyone and some of the content is questionable to say the least (personally I'm super disappointed in the way Mutsuki's character is headed) but overall it's one of the best relatively popular ongoing mangas right now in my opinion.

Omg the Tokyo ghoul manga is amazing!!!!! I love it soo muh but it's sooo sad what happens to Hide!!! My smol child!!!! But he did it for Kaneki. I wonder how the anime will progress since it's not like the manga in what happens to Hide.

Please Studio Pierrot, don't make Tokyo Ghoul Season 3, just reboot it and "follow the manga story", if Pierrot do that it will be one of the most best Anime ever

They should have made the anime series based on the manga in the first place. I personally don't think Kaneki would ever JOIN Aogiri.

What!? He joins Aogiri in the anime? crazy, im a huge fan of the manga but don't watch the anime. I started reading more manga once I started catching on to how much Anime changes the stories. If I really feeling the characters or story line I alway go for the manga first.

Love the Tokyo Ghoul manga, especially Tokyo Ghoul: re, though I'm not quite up to date yet. I so wish the anime had gone with the manga plot, it would be so much better! And that there was less censorship considering it's meant to be gory...
