By the same creator of Tenjo Tenge, Air Gear matches and may even surpasses the passion, craziness, and ecchiness of its predecessor. Centered around "baby Face" delinquent Itsuki Minami and his strange friends, his life is transformed when introduced to the futuristic inline skating known as Air-Treks(imagine air propelled skates that can apparently ride up buildings, glide though the air, and defying all Newtonian laws) that has sweeped the world, inspiring youths to form gangs and territories, competing with their A-T's. Living with 4 incredibly hot "sisters" that took him in as a kid, he learns they are part of the legendary Sleeping Forest gang an is thrust into a crazy, dangerous world of freedom, violence, and friendship.

The artwork is as fantastic, as expected of "Oh! Great". The panels are a bit rough as expected in the the first dozen chapters but he soon perfects the beautiful backgrounds and characters. Unfortunately it has ended but hey you guys should totally read this. the best analogy I can use is that it is like a Michael Bay Movie. It has questionable plot and is filled with plot holes. The characterization is sometimes developing...sometimes static. However the mangaka has shown his work through the stunning visuals and epic fight scenes. It is a true shonen indeed

Air Gear is AWESOME!

Very well made thread, and I'm actually interested in reading this now. Sometime back when I had first heard of it, I was got stuck on the fact that the fandom of it seemed to spout yaoi fanwank at every turn.

So much, in fact, I was actually under the impression it was a shonen-ai series. While not particularly against that, I disliked rabid fandoms so I decided to pass it by.

But if the plot is worth it, then giving this another shot seems fair.

I usually prefer manga like FMA which you can kind of recommend to just about anyone. But with Air Gear you really can't because it's just kinda...I dunno there's a lot of fan service. Character development is really great though.

The fanservice is kinda Oh Great!'s style.. But it would be nice to be able to recommend it to anyone, to get its popularity and readership up.
