A one-shot manga, written by Boichi.
Collection of stories including:
Hotel
In the year 2272 A.D. Mankind is extinct. A computer continues to live on in order to complete a mission in a world where all life has gone extinct. This is a record of those 27 million years of its heroic struggle.
Present
Hanako suffers from a terrible disease. After awakening from a deep slumber, Hanako learns that she has only three days to live. During those three days, her husband, Takao, must endure a heart-breaking experience, knowing that the person Hanako really loves isn't him.
Subete wa Maguro no Tamedatta
Stephanos
Diadem
A "Diadem" is a word for 'crown' that has its root in Greek. "Stephanos", which appeared in "Mandala" 01, was also a 'crown'. It seems that we could consider this the second work in a continuing series of shorts that should perhaps be called a "Crown series".

It's very rare that you come across a one-shot that tells a tale so much more poignant, so much deeper and thought-provoking that manga with dozens of volumes could ever hope to accomplish in telling...

Hotel tells the story of a world that is being ravaged by mankind. Humanity has done its worst, and now must pay the price: the world is ending. The story is unique in that it is actually very informative without being boring when the explanations of how Man has destroyed the world are given. It certainly does pick up as the plot progresses and we see exactly how the world ends...

All of the individual stories were very entertaining and engaging... However stories 1, 3, and 5 stood out to me... Diadem (5), because of its 'in your face, I'm god' style, Hotel (1), because of its amazing story, and Subete wa Maguro no Tamedatta (3), because fuck... It was for all the God damn Tuna...

Loved this... Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I've only read Hotel and it was totally very good. I don't think I've read any other one-shot that delivered such a though-provoking subject so well. Then again I don't really read one-shots, but still.

I didn't about the other ones...probably because I used a site that didn't have them all together and then didn't give the matter any more thought.

I've read Hotel, and it's pretty amazing. I loved how Boichi could keep it interesting despite it being about a computer controlling a building for 27 million years. The flashbacks to the creation of 'Louis' also helped the audience feel attached to the character. I never thought a story about a machine could be so powerful.
