Plus-minus some elements, Strobe Edge starts off the same as many other shoujo manga out there: a girl falls in love for the first time, but unfortunately for her it seems that love is doomed to be a one-sided one.
But starting from that, this manga manages to tell an honest and compelling story, without abusing all the common cliches. Without unnecessary drama and just the right amount of cute, Strobe Edge will makes you go straight back to when you had your first love, with all the silly and bittersweet moments involved.
I would recommend it to people who are jaded with the genre and those who are new to it as well. It really sets itself apart.

Whoa this thread is so old. This is still pretty much my favorite shoujo manga, but I've barely read any others in the last few years so I don't know how much saying that is worth.
I wanted to read Ao Haru Ride but I heard it turns not so good at some point and so I ended up not doing it.
