Sette Frummagem is on a mission. In order for her to prove to her dad that she can fill his boots and become the next head of the family of thieves, she is sent to teach her embezzling cousin some respect.But sending a child to the other side of the country isn't the best idea, so Sette's dad blackmails a wandering undead spellcaster to be her bodyguard.

Things don't end up being as easy as anyone originally thought though. Our nimble thief and her trusty attack zombie are soon mistaken as highwaymen, have some run ins with a group of slavers/organ harvesters, and face difficulties crossing borders with an impending war looming over the continent.

Unsounded is a fantasy webcomic by Ashley Cope. As of this date, it has 4 completed chapters ranging form 32 to 75 chapters long each. The main characters have a really good dynamic going between each other, the art is absolutely gorgeous, and the world they live in is strange and, well, fascinating. If you are looking for a serious fantasy narrative in webcomic form, then Unsounded is one of your best bets.

Solid webcomic right here. Every time I catch up I just wish there would be more.

It still feels like it's just the beginning of things, but I'm positively fascinated by all the characters. Can't wait to find out more about each of them and who they really are.

I started reading this earlier today and it has gone far beyond what I had originally expected of it. >>8 pretty much sums up my thoughts.

Just finished reading the 8th chapter and man, where to start.

The art style. At first when i began reading, i saw the light-heartedness the art style portrayed. Featuring a wise cracking young girl with a mysterious sage like companion. The beginning chapter was a lot of light hear-ted fun. But then, the anvil drops.(spoilers!) The scene with the girl on the alter having her chest cut entirely open, holy fuck.... and from there it doesn't let up. It gets gruesome, watching hands get cut off, to limbs torn apart, to innards spilling, I bloody loved the whole damn lot of it. 9/10 epic win.
The story. To me this story felt episodic going into it. Not much is revealed till later except what the Female protagonist Sette's goal is. However, the plot really complexes into something much bigger than the 2 main characters ( no spoilers for those who want to read it), and from what's been set up, the story has already branched out to several arcs at once, which is very Tarantino in style but not as confusing at times. I also enjoy it, it's a complex plot that isn't hard to get into, and it really drew me in. My worries are questions being raised though that won't be answered, so until then it's wait and see.
The characters. I will say this, i have never seen a more unlikely Duo done better than Sette and Duaine. Both polar opposites in character with individual faults that can have you love and ultimately hate them, but sympathize with them at the same time. Duaine the wise pyrmarch but yet stuck in his own values and one-sidedness. Sette the wise cracking mischief maker. You can love and hate her equally at times, but she plays the innocent liar part so well it's almost Shakespeare. The side characters actually can't be called side characters so much because as i said, this split story arc style actually gives the other characters just about as much stage time as our two protagonists. Over all, an excellent drawing out of characters, maybe a few over used archetypes, but nothing cringe worthy.
The world. This fantasy esk world really is open and full of brimming cultures and beliefs. The religion, philosophy, magical laws, societal norms, nations. The people populating it really do get flushed out around their loyalties to either themselves or their rulers. I won't say much on specifics, but there is a rich vibrant world to explore, filled with much wonder that you can't help but learn more.

Over all i will easily recommend this to anyone into comics, or a good fantasy story in general. Hell, i'd recommend this to anyone who just reads. I was never a graphic novel person, but this really drew me in. Seriously guys, don't miss out on this, it's worth the time to read.
Until then, can't wait till march 31st for updates on chapter 9.
