Koisuru boukun, or ' the tyrant who fell in love', is pretty good, and it has two ovas if you'd rather watch it. Also, sekai ichi hatsukoi is really good. Its by the creator of junjou romantica, but has a different set of characters and everything like that. Gravitation is pretty well known, and thats pretty good too. Ai to yokobou wa gakuen de is really good if you want something...dirtier. Overall, mangafox.com and animephile.com have pretty good selections.

well i think Junjou Jomantica was an awesome suggestion. if you go to mangareader.net they have a really good one called Totally Captivated. the description is a little sketchy but the detail is great and it's pretty satisfying

There's the manga The Tyrant who Falls in Love, it's a really good read .There's also Kimi ga Koi ni Ochiru and Kimi ga Koi ni Oboreru, nice yaoi manga and also has a bit of sports in it. There's Junjou Romantica which doesn't really have great art but the story is amazing. There's also the works from the mangaka Ayano Yamane. The works of mangaka Naono Bohra are very good if you prefer some older yaoi. There's The Royal Fiancé which is a very cute and short read. There's also Okane Ga Nai which contains he typical cute and small uke and an older and forceful seme. There's Myuuzu Gakuen de Aou(The School of Muse) and Bokura no Oukoku(this one isn't that good in art). And there's also the mangas Kirai Ja Nai Kedo and Koi Ja Nai Kedo.

Watashitachi no Tamura kun, Its about a guy who had a crush a girl who moved a away, but then a new student arrives, and it turns out to be a pretty girl, the main character tries not to even look at her, it turns out that that girl likes him. Idk, its only 24 chapters i think, so it wouldn't be a hassle to keep up with new chapters xD I even made my own digital artwork to it lol

Hanairo Virgin Soil. Its about a college student who is given a job by one of his Professor's clients, a nude modeling gig. However, its not what you might think. He has to learn to be seductive to both genders, but in order to do so he must go through "sensual training" with his new boss;)

Junjou Romantica seasons 1 and 2 were good. Also Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi was good and I heard they are coming out with a season two for Sekai. Hope you enjoy! :)

There he meets Takehisa, a blind employee in charge of massage. What started out as casual conversations between strangers suddenly made Akaneya blush for some reason and then..

Now listen up my fellow bitches, no funny business. Purely shounen ai with no sort of kinks, smut, or otherwise perverted things. Sully this title and I will personally curse you to death. enjoy ;)

I dont have the cover saved on my PC, sadly... But my favorite Yaoi manga as of right now (And has been for many many MANY years now) is Gravitation written and illustrated by Maki Murakami. The story follows the attempts of Shuichi Shindo and his band, Bad Luck, to become Japan's next musical sensation, and his struggles to capture Eiri Yuki's heart. Its a really old but great series. The art is nice and gets better as it goes on and the story is just so perfect. To me at least. There is also a thirteen episode TV Anime series for it, along with a two episode OVA. I Highly recommend this series to you.

About time I recommend this adorable manga. Strictly shounen ai.

However, even though he has strange powers which makes other bad-guy type people fall for him, he has no intention of taking over the world.
One day the hero, Kamiko reaches Mao's office and notices right away that he is the demon king but in order to test this theory - he kisses him!
Mao just wants to get this defeat over with and go back to his daily life but when Kamiko seizes his company and says it's not going to be that easy. Mao's life is turned upside down and now they live together and Kamiko keeps insisting that the only way to be defeated properly is to have sex!

Nagisa Takakage, owner of a newly opened Italian restaurant, had a severe lack of social life. On the day of the opening party to his new restaurant though, he met someone he'd never seen before by the name of Kouga Nagisa. Ever since, Nagisa kept coming to Takakage's restaurant, but he seems to want something more than a chef-customer relationship?

Try to read and be amazed at how I distorted the impression on Kouga Nagisa by using a few words. The art's at least times nicer in black and white though. Wonder why the author tried so hard to give it a color page.
Also, you might want to try Dear Green by the same author. That one has slightly more ecchi. eheheh.

A person trapped by the past, another person slowly crumbling down from the pressure of unchanging reality. All it takes is just one encounter for the two stagnant worlds to intersect and slowly but surely begin moving forward.

Okay, that looks like a poem, but it's a perfect description, really. Bear in mind that there's only 1 couple here (really, how many BL manga includes so many straight boys? truly a refreshing and rare specimen ;3). If you've read Taiyou no Ie or Yumemiru Taiyou before, you'll definitely love this manga, as it's just as deep and profound. Now go and start reading!

It's BROMANCE on full throttle. Set in Edo period when sworn brothers was still a thing, a complex and enthralling story about love, mystery and murders began. The two main characters are a police officer and a former criminal now living as a tea shop owner and umbrella maker. I won't tell you the plot cause that's just spoiling it, but there are mysterious murders, assasinations, and lots of conspiracies involved.
This series is a perfect combination between gag and seriousness. Intertwined into an awe-spiring chronicle. The art style is really unique (granted, it's somewhat hard on the eyes, but still really nice). Now if only the author put some more girls and less bromance scenes, this woulda been a killer series popular among all, but oh well. Feast for my eyes. Go read it right this instance. And ladies, resist the seductions XD

This is really just. Dark. It isn't so much to the point where it can be classified as a comic that could make you question humanity to that extent. But it's sadistic. This could be a huge hit or miss. But if you do find it to be your kind of comic. You will enjoy this very much. This is pretty much a dark smut. You might only feel some kind of romantic connection between the second couple, but of course even they are slightly deranged. Like the comic Neko just suggested, if the plot were slightly different and revolved around near to no Bl. This could have been a hit.

Yippy yay to the smut. Something you don't see too often, the seme is an M. and a pervert. Aizawa used to enjoy bullying Hidaka when they were children and it got so bad that he had to move away. Now in high school, Aizawa's mended his way and lived a bullying-free life, but suddenly Hidaka, someone who reminded him of his dark past transferred to his school (cliche, I know). Expecting Hidaka to want vengeance, Aizawa steeled his nerves, but unexpectedly Hidaka asked to be his slave?

Since people are doing recs, I suggest Kyuuso wa Cheese no Yume wo Miru (The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese) and Sojou no Koi wa Nido Haneru (The Carp on the Chopping Block Jumps Twice) by Mizushiro Setona.

It's a mature story (both in an R18 way and in terms of story) and can get pretty depressing, so avoid it if you're looking for fluff.

It's about a cheating husband and his former college classmate who is a private detective hired by the wife. The classmate has always been in love with the guy and they end up in a relationship. The first book is a bit typical BL, but the second one was really impressive. It's one of the first and best BL manga I've read :>

So For whatever reason this has been tagged "Incest" multiple times. When technically it isn't? It pulls off that old Cliche that "Surprise, they aren't actually Related" Kind of thing...Heck if I know, it was cute though.
So It's pretty much about Bro-01 being a violent trouble maker at school often getting into fights and such with others. He is also in fact in love with Bro-02 who is actually his younger not-from-the-same-mom Brother. He does not actually get into all the strings of fights for no reason but to simply find a way to take out or get some remedy from The said pain and frustration of being in love with his brother. He's kind of getting there.
I also took a moment to just punch the ground when I found out that this was by the same person who made Caste Heaven. No wonder the art looked so familiar...Any ways read it. That is unless you have already then...Meh.

Try Gokujou Dessert Too. It's about as sweet as it looks. Though I feel like I missed something near the end. I really did.

I'm just going to say how much I loved this art style, it had a nice plain design but still very detailed and realistic. The story itself was also very good, but it went by way too fast (I didn't even notice the chapters changing over!), but still great. There's no sex though, the story focuses more on the relationship building between the two characters which I thought was fine anyway. #EmotionalRollercoaster

I agree with what most of you have said here. I personally am not interested in fantasy/unrealistic type yaoi manga. I like the more believable relationships, I suppose.

My opinion: The first time I saw a picture of this comic, I did not like the style, but it is intentional for the author to make an 'ugly' style for Jaerim, because she knows how to make some really cute guys hehe! I did not want to read because of the style (Hit me t-t) until I give it a try and start reading ... I read all 77 chapters in two days. It has not yet finished being posted (I think), and it is a comic that I liked very much for tackling themes that do not appear so much in the most famous yaois. It's a comic that everyone should read, it seems to be pretty silly at first plus it gets more and more interesting as time goes by.
I hope you like it! It's not a manga but I wanted to recommend it anyway, since we do not have a place for ya-comics.

I've seen a lot of the same recommendations, so I'm only going to list things that I haven't seen recommended yet.

1- Hidamari ga Kikoeru is a really sweet shounen-ai manga. It focuses on the "friendship" between two college students. One of whom is loud, boisterous, and broke, the other of whom is introverted and is experiencing hearing loss. (Spoiler alert! They end up a little more than friends.) It's short, but it's well-worth the read and it's complete.

2- Blood Bank is a yaoi manhwa. It has vampires, (actually safe and consensual) BDSM, a really interesting plot-line and some cool character designs. It's in colour and updates fairly regularly. It is my belief that most readers would label this as hardcore, although it is still very cute and portrays genuine romantic emotions and a surprisingly healthy relationship considering the genre.

3- Always Raining Here is a BL comic. It's quite fluffy, although there is a brief scene where the main character stops his friend from forcing a girl into sex. It does get a little angst-y, but overall it's quite light. I would consider it yaoi, but not hardcore by any means. This comic is complete.

4- Hakusen to Sumizome Kaidan Shitagaku Jouji is a yaoi manga about two young prostitutes. There's not much to say about this one, but it was oddly cute and it gave me a lot of unwanted (and unexpected) feelings. As far as I know, this work is complete. Both of the central characters are shotas, and I would consider this hardcore. If you don't like that, don't read it. Like, they honestly look like little girls. You have been warned.

5- Bird is a comic about a schizophrenic boy and his doctor(?). It is honestly one of the most adorable webcomics I've ever read. This is NOT hardcore. I'm not sure if I would categorize it as more yaoi or shounen-ai, but their relationship so far is very innocent as far as sex goes. But someone does molest a patient, and someone gets raped and murdered, and other people get murdered, and there are illegal experiments and illegal surgeries. So pretty much everything else is not that innocent. But this comic is amazing and adorable. If only it updated more often! (It also has a spin-off/side series about some of the other characters: Losers, which is also a BL comic.)

6- Bloodroot has 407 "episodes" on Tapastic as of today. It's a yaoi webcomic about a "breather" who is bought as a slave by an upperclass "lumin" who has no intention to use him as anything other than a friend. "A story about loss, revolution and love across social boundaries. And octopuses. Not like, love across octopuses, but there is an octopus in the story that has nothing to do with the romance. I promise it's not tentacle porn." It updates almost every day and it's definitely worth trying, even if it seems a little weird at first. I'm not sure if you would classify this as hardcore or not, but there is mature material in there.

7- A Matter of Life and Death is about two gods (Life and Death) and their struggle to find peace in one another. There's a lot of misunderstandings, but I have faith that everything will be okay in the end. This comic is well-written and the art is gorgeous. Although there was a style-change part way through, it didn't really bother me, and in no way did it hinder my reading experience or cause my brain to explode in shock. Music is often included in the updates, which are pretty regular.

Sugar Code | 1 volume - A young man ses a fight and helps one of the guys after he collapses i the street. He soon finds out that the guy he helped is a lazy bum.

Koisuru Boukun is one of my favourites. The ones by Ogeretsu Tanaka are good too, and those made by Harada. Harada's ones can be very dark though, just to warn you.
I also love Silver Diamond (although it isn't yaoi, it's shounen ai), Yatamomo, Love Stage, Honto Yajuu, Ten Count and Aitsu no Daihonmei.

HATE MATE is awesome! The first half is a struggle to get through, but the second half makes it completely worth it (and the ending is so satisfying!!). The characters are fleshed out, and the plot is believeable, which you don't enough of in yaoi I feel like.
