Well, since the latest chapter of R+V finally got translated, I thought "Hey, why not make a Rosario+Vampire thread on account of it being so awesome".
So yeah, anyone else read R+V?
If not, check it out. It's a bit slow and boring at first, but it begins to pick up around Ch.9 onwards.

Haven't seen the manga, but I remember the anime for being shamelessly ecchi.

The anime basically butchered it. It got the plot for the first 12 or so chapters, made it worse and brought in characters from later on.
The manga isn't devoid of ecchi, but it's SIGNIFICANTLY less. It has a pretty decent plot and the arcs get better and better. The artwork isn't exactly great at first, but Akihisa really improved as the manga progressed. Plus Tsukune actually gets awesome XD

Because I remember counting the number of pantyshots within the first 10 minutes of the first episode.

this is a good manga. even with all the fan service it has a great story. although it only releases one chapter a month the wait is worth it.
the first season of the anime was good, follows most of the manga. second season was made before the second season manga so it dosent really follow it. i still liked it.

I have to agree with the above, Rosario Vampire's Manga is pretty hardcore - Never judge this series off it's anime.
The artwork gets really good later on, and Tsukune gets developed into something pretty hardcore, especially with the Belmont Whip.

Uh Chapter 43 of Season 2 was just translated by a group. There's usually, what, 4 chapters to a volume, so I guess Volume 10 is just about done.

Also I love that Tsukune is a total badass now... Fuck this manga blows the anime adaptation out of the fucking water...
I'm very happy with how this manga is going. Its definitely going to end up in my top 10 or possibly top 5 when I'm done reading it.
