Guys, I know this seems impossible, but I am not the only one needing this.... I have started a banana fish campaign for having an alternative happy ending. I do respect Yoshida and her opinion(although it's her style to kill her main characters), but for the sake of her fandom and our broken heart I also want an alternative happy ending. I won't accept the release of garden of light as an anime unless they give us an alternative ending. To answer one of your questions: is this possible to have 2 endings? My answer is yes, it is the most possible as it happened in many anime before, and the most popular of them all is Steins Gate. So this is the link to where I am going to start the campaign, but I also need you all to understand that I am not posting this for my popularity or for the popularity of the site, but for the sake of every fan with same goal would be motivated to put our hands into each other's hands and take a step forward to make it successful. There are many people who signed petition on this, but I am not the one who made the petition though nor do I know that person, but I am mentioning this to also remind you that I am not the only one who is starting this type of activities, at least we can say "at least I have tried." It's also... very disrespectful to the creators that you're demanding an alternative ending because you were heartbroken. That's a ton of extra, hard work if it was not something that was planned. To change from the original, intended storyline means the ending will be rushed, may not make sense, and not have the same charm. Do what other fandoms do and write a fanfic with your own alternative ending if you want it so badly.
