Help! I need some opinions on an animated show I am making. (2)

Here is a small corner I cropped from scene one. As you can see, I am still working on it although the background is almost finished.

My question is, am I making a fanime? Or a cartoon?

I live in america, and I am making everything myself, the scripts, the animation, the backgrounds...The only thing I am not doing myself is the voice actors, but I am making the audio tracks. I personally don't want to call it a "fanime" because although the show itself uses songs from anime shows, it doesn't have an opening or ending. It also doesn't really have any ties to anime (besides the story being inspired by it in its own way).

Most fanime out there are either HORRIBLE tries at being an actual anime, or amazing and FUNNY shows who use the whole anime genre as satire. They use the fact that it's a fanime to make jokes about anime cliques and such.

I feel like if I don't call it a fanime, no one will watch it. But if I do, it will be held to the same standard when it comes to humor.

Nechromia and The Alchemist isn't exactly humorous. Without going into too much detail about the story itself, it is a character driven story. It focuses on each character, why they became the person they were, and how they deal with the situations they are in. It deals with a deaf man, murder, and a lot of psychological torture that comes with "being a Magnolia". It evaluates the worth of human life, but not in the way you would expect. Sure, it has it's moments, but humor has never been my strong point. I want my show to serve as a message. No matter how bad my art will be, I just want to tell my story. And I feel like calling it a fanime would...take away from that.

I'm young. Definitely too young to be making a show. But right now I'm figuring out what to label it, and how to promote it so people will actually watch it.

Sorry if I put this in the wrong spot, I was originally going to put it under "Animation" but that seemed to be dedicated to actual anime shows.

Personally think it looks really good. Technically its a cartoon. But since its in the anime style it can be classed as a fanime
