So I'm not really here to post art. I was wondering what people thought of photoshop. I was raised with more traditional forms of art and now that i see some of the creations done with photoshop, I'm a bit interested.

Is it a hard process to make something look good in photoshop? Is it hard to learn in the beginning?
Are some of the functions or tools hard to understand?
Are there multiple forms of technology I should buy to make my Photoshop experience better?

I would really like to hear some people's views of this or even some stories of how you started so that maybe i could start making some great art to post.

Well, first you'd have to buy a tablet and then buy Photoshop. Personally, tablets are so much more fun to draw on than paper, but that's my opinion.

If you don't have one go look up Wacom Bamboo tablets - they are the good ones for beginners. I tried to draw in Photoshop but honestly I couldn't figure it out. Photoshop is better for if you want to have a painting kind of style.

What I use is Paint Tool SAI - good for more of a "cartoon" kind of drawing - and Audodesk Sketchbook - the name implies what it is, a digital sketchbook and doesn't have that much to it.

You can look up on YouTube speed paintings using Photoshop and see if you think you'll like it. Same with SAI and Sketchbook, and other ones I didn't name.

There are some pretty neat things you can do with Photoshop. I recommend looking up some tutorials online for Photoshop though.
