I suck at lineart... How did you wake it look so clean?

well for starters set the stabilizer to 10-12 any thing around there, then make a "line art" layer most people just make a new layer but you want the "Line Art" layer because you can edit your lines and straighten things out with the edit tool, also there is a pressure tool you can use if your tablet doesn't have enough pressure sensitivity.
I usually do my line art with a 7-10 size pen because you want to keep it thing, after you have done the basic like art go over every corner and thicken it like I have done, this makes it feel more dimensional and helps balance dark and light colours.

thank you!! :) hmm well every since i got my drawing tablet/deviant art which was about five months ago :3 I think i started getting serious with it, yeah i think I've learned a lot during the five months, i found that constant analysing was key to my improvement :3

hmmm well i find drawing on the tablet quiet difficult :3 so i draw on A3 paper first and because i don't have a A3 scanner i just take a picture of my drawing and put it on SAI to trace over and adjust some part of the drawing i find that looks out of proportion. :) thank you for your complements i really do appreciate them though i still need a lot of improvement :) and don't worry it wont be long till you can draw like a pro just take it steps at a time.

for some reason I haven't been bothered to colour in those last pictures :3 but here is one im doing atm, im also recording it so i can make my first speed painting video :3 hope you guys like it!

im going to post two line arts of the same picture one before i do the line thickening and the thickened one because I've gotten messages on deviant art asking how i got the line art looking like it does, it should be pretty easy to pot out but if you dont see it i just added thicker parts to all joining corners :)

>>87 There are many attributes to creating a picture, but this my step by step on creating a character/drawing.
1-chose the appearance of the figure may it be male or female, whilst doing this think about the characteristics, Tsudere, Yandere ETC.

2~from the characteristics you then proceed with the pose, this is the part I find most difficult as it is one of the key elements to creating a picture, the pose will reflect on the character and make it alive and animated.

3~pick clothes that you think looks good.

4~pick colours that compliment each other for example, blue and orange, this will help give a pop effect but it is not always necessary to do so and instead you could use blending colours like I did in the last picture.

5~Colour away, add some final touches and bam. :3
This step by step is more for people that have a basic understanding in drawing. Other implements like drawing the clothe foldings hair human anatomy will come in time, though it is good to look up a few tutorials and find pictures that will better you at drawing/colouring. (^3^)/

hmm the time varies on how difficult the picture is but this one took about 5 hours due to my easily distracted mind haha and yes using the pen and tablet is quiet easy when you get used to it, for some people it takes a while but I seem to got the hang of it in no time but I first draw on paper for my rough sketch then I put it through paint tool sai do the final line art and the rest.

well i just downloaded sai a mouth ago but never used it, hmmm so you dont just dive into a drawing, you plan it out on paper first, maybe that's why your so detailed. I'll give sketching a try before I start my drawings

Yes hahaha maybe try that, it helps me quiet a lot but I dont put much effort in my sketching, maybe just the basic out lines of the figure, sometimes I dont even draw the face in until I run it through Sai but thats just me :) good luck!! I'm sure you will improve, just commitment and an imaginative mind!

All it is, is a ghostly body with a detailed mask. It's not a very difficult concept. Just do it in your style. Hell, do a female version of it rather than something you'd expect as male.

Just show a sort of creepy factor and it'll be swell.

Use some of that glowing effect for stuff, too. That is all.

Hello guys, I would like to give people a heads up if wanting to reach an extreme level of art in sometime of their life. When a lot of people start drawing they don't seem to be the best, this is because they're analytical side is a lot stronger than their intuitive side, when you draw your brain is alway asking you questions always looking for little bits that don't work, this is your analytical side, if you draw on this side of your brain the art work won't be as expressive let a lone look much like the painting you had in mind, the use of both analytical side and intuitive side helps prevent that, when you're drawing or painting let your intuitive side go wild, let it paint whatever it feels or what ever "IT" has in mind, then stop, zoom out or look at it from afar and let your analytical side do this part, let it analyse whether it looks like the painting from your mind, of course you won't get the results you want straight away but the more you practice this the better you'll get at it, this side to painting is linking your two sides of your brain together, and you can feel them working but it's quite a mess so let them take turns of painting. for example, do you ever feel this feeling inside of you telling you it looks wrong or the colours aren't exact? that's you analytical side, the one that paints it or draws it is intuition, the more aware you become of this the easier drawing gets! I hope you guys liked this article and I would happily give some more tips on not just drawing it self but the mechanical side with your brain.
