The other day I saw this guy whip out this totally awesome drawing with only crayons and ink (like a pot of ink and a brush). It was really cool to watch, but as a fellow artist, I felt a little... lesser, if you know what I mean. I've drawn with pens, markers, and crayons before, but it always turned out looking like "WTF did I just draw??" I guess I've been spoiled by the eraser. Lol.

What about you guys? Do you draw with "unforgivable mediums" or have you, too, been spoiled by the eraser?

agreed, I complety understand your pain BleepingSeauty. Whenever I try to draw with ink or even colour with pencil crayons or copic markers, my sketches just turn out looking like a peice of shit even if the sketch is amazing. I really do hate it, but I just have to keep on trying. :)

Definitely understand what you're feeling there. I'm really spoiled by the eraser and especially the computer programs where all you need to do is undo, undo, undo, or scribble the lights out of your picture not caring for line art, then deleting everything later . . .

Though I do try and practice with pen . . . I just really suck at it . . . my hand keeps shaking like crazy! hahahaha

I know what you mean. D: I have a friend who NEVER uses pencil. How is that possible? D: She drew a picture of me using pen and markers. Just like that. In front of my face. Handed it to me. No mistakes. How. Is. That. Possible!?!?

sometimes I don't use pencil... most of those times, they're just doodles and ideas.. but If i got a new type of marker or something then I'll probably draw without pencil.

other than that, I am soo spoiler with a eraser.. If I hate what I drew I'll erase the whole page and I'll redraw it. ._.

I spend 5 minutes with pencil, erase with either a black or a white eraser, depending on which kind I have, retouch it, and repeat until it is good, then go over it with pen, very, VERY, carefully. For abstract stuff, though, I use charcoal and paint, though.

depending on the situation if i make a mistake with an unforgivable, then id just work with it i guess... getting messed up on unforgivables hasn't really discouraged me before...

if i mess up, i try to think of a way to use it or hide said mistake.

I use mostly paint..But with paint there is a way to fix your mistakes depending on what kind of paint your using. You can wait till it dries then cover it up....You cant do that with watercolor paint though. Watercolor is the devil!

I hear mistakes gives art more character. But I don't know I'm a total beginner XP

Just keep on practicing. I myself can't draw, so I do photography and film instead. However, when I kept messing up, I kept on erasing and drawing on. I would rather have a piece of crap that I made for the sake of feeling accomplished.

drawing is drawing...and art shall for ever remain as art in every type of form and judging artists by what they color or draw with is pretty much out of the way cause your so fond of the way you draw or present your art...don't shut down people cause everyone is an artists in their own type of way

I have been spoiled by the eraser, but I can do a little something with just pen though. I end up not liking it in the end sadly so I stop.
