A Friendly Reminder For Beginners That Doesn't Have a Fixed Name Yet

So here is the overall History of Dollars BBS laid out in one thread (mostly were from 2013 but some of their impact can still be seen even 7 years after), gathered from Main, Suggestion, Random board and were put in certain order so you didn’t get lost in your journey Hero! Didn’t know if that reordering worked though, that’s why I put it here first. Tell me what you think of it, if I could improve it even. If it seems chronological enough, or if there is some part that seems a bit off and might need a new paragraph in-between them to connect it together.

Yeah, some of you might think I’ll write a whole new essay about the. Naw, I can’t do that when I didn’t have the grasp of things. This is as far as I can go, and I think it should stay true to the source material.

Site was launched 06-19-2010 officially, according to the update page. The ‘About’ pages and such were altered on the 29th, but they were altered primarily by user input, after a few days... So most of the aforementioned people joined in the first 10 days of the site's launch.

(note: I deemed it unnecessary to put the mentioned people up, but because the mepost mentioned them, they were Misuto, Thanatos, Insertnamehere, Tsuki, Firo, Enni, Bacurik, Satou, Kaori and Lurksalot)

It really has been just about three years since then. There's been a whole lot of history and memories packed into them, too.

I remember Mael, divineraccoon, and Forte Sigma really stood out during a thanksgiving/octoberfest holidays when we were dealing with the worst influx of idiots the sight had seen at the time. They got really involved from there on, but I'm not sure what happened to them.

When the site started, the community was very small and so we ended up forming a really tight knit group. When a new name came in, everyone knew who the new guy was - And since we all knew each other, we tried to make sure they knew all of us as well.

After a while, so many people were joining that it became kind of impossible to keep kind of thing up, so we started dividing out into "cells". There was a big movement some time during the early parts of BBS where everyone was trying to define their cells, and who was in it, etc.

It was all pretty silly, with facebook groups being made for some and such - I feel like they kind of missed the point, by making their cells really exclusive and important sounding when in reality they were just a metaphor for who knew who.

Mael was essentially "second generation". Others from second generation were people like King, Sad, That Guy, and probably a bunch of others I can't remember right now.

To clarify, when I say "generation", I mean that every so often a group of people join the site and really stand out - They end up becoming pretty known on the site for their effort, works, or posts. These people are what I refer to as generations.

Mael primarily stood out in Anime,

where he more or less set the standard for making threads. If you go through the archive for that board with CTRL+F Mael, you'll find pretty much every one of his threads includes a snazzy picture and an informative description. It was really neat, so we encouraged people to follow his example until it just became a universal standard.

Hell, it was even adopted into the Games, Literature, and Comics boards.

As for finding out about the site? Well, that's pretty simple. Almost everyone who joined this site during the beginning had watched the DRRR subs and said "I wonder if there's something like that..."

There was, and so we stayed. It was only as the site got older that people started joining BBS by invite, or reference, without having ever really seen DRRR. Incidentally, there was actually less fanwank during the earliest days when everyone joined directly from DRRR as there was later on.

I have no idea how that works. We've settled down a lot lately, though - As evidence by the thread made a while ago where a bunch of us pointed out that we didn't really have a reason to be as vicious in correcting new members as we used to be.

Most people who joined in the last year or so probably never even experienced what raised the bar that high in the first place, they were just following along and learning by word of mouth. It's kinda shameful that it took us this long to realize it, but when people don't know why they're acting in a specific way... It's probably a good sign that its time for them to rethink how they're acting.

FRIGGIN, WHY WOULDN'T YOU FORMAT YOURSELF?!

(note: this particular post is needed to understand what happened in the next few posts, it might not make much sense now but bear with me for a few minute)

I completely understand why the regular members feel the need to express themselves the way they do.
They do it to help and not to hurt, and their severity is only for shock factor, so that the lesson is learned. And sometimes there is rage involved- totally understandable.

However, I feel that sometimes "the rude" is enough to stop one from posting.
Posting in general, not double-posting, not necroposting, not being an idiot or a weeaboo or some other subcategory.
I'm talking about genuinely expressing one's opinions. Opinions that are not truculent or trollish or just plain stupid.

The point I'm trying to make here is that the regulars (and their rage) are intimidating, even to people who don't deserve or have not directly received the rage or rudeness or whatever.

This may stop people who aren't idiots from posting when they may have valuable opinions or things to share.

I am NOT telling anyone what to do, senior members please go on doing what you do. You have enough dedication to actually care when people do stupid things that defile the site, so honestly, you can say whatever to you like to whomever you like. I'm not contesting any of that.

(note: I changed some of the wordings here such as senior/older members to regular members, at the time of this post, those yelling didn’t just acted by the old members but also the new members who quickly grasped of the current situation and participate in organizing the site. When you see something being worded as if they were done by older members, its not just the old members but also the new ones. I think you get my point)

I'm just raising the possibility that some of the "be nice" white-knighters that raise these issues may be coming from this angle with nothing but a feeling to base their argument on and without the ability to express this point.
(I'm not trying to sound conceited when I say this. Expressing yourself through writing is a skill not enough people possess.)

As for myself, I find myself stuck in this predicament of wanting to post, but usually refraining for fear of getting hate from older members and becoming ostracized or involved in an argument. I despise arguing with people, especially over the internet.
(Also, I know that my grammar is far from perfect so I fear that anything I say could get shot down right away, regardless of content.)

Maybe no one else is in this situation, and it's only me who manages to become intimidated, even through the interwebs. -_-
But in any case, this is where I'm coming from on this issue.

Of all of us though I'm pretty sure Insert put up with the most shit since he commuted to and from a few different groups before settling on this one; fun fact, BBS is actually a little younger than a couple other Dollars-inspired sites.

It should be noted that BBS actually ended up outliving most all the other dollars-inspired sites, however.

Several of the biggest ones kind of imploded upon themselves as time went on, because they were very fandom oriented. There wasn't so much a community as there was a fad. The fact that BBS made a point since the early days to separate ourselves as something "inspired by", but not "copied from" is what, I think, led to us being as successful as we have.

The concept is here - But a fansite, we are not. Even after the buzz about the series faded, we remained pretty unaffected because we had established ourselves as a site independent of the inspirational origin.

There was a point in time, maybe a couple months to a year into the site's life, when it started getting flooded by weeaboos from a particular site. Everyone was generally receptive of the attention, but we had already decided to dissociate from the DRRR anime in terms of what we talked about here - there's only so far you can go talking about a single thing, after all.

They wouldn't stop. It was wave after wave of new members with preconceived notions about the site, and it was particularly around the time when DRRR was at its peak in popularity. Those who cared had to buckle down and get mean about it, to drive them off - because they were the sort of member who couldn't be reasoned with. They weren't here for discussion, they were here for a fansite. And they were just wrong.

So over time we developed a sense of harshness towards people who couldn't get that idea driven into their head, and we had encouraged others to do the same. And it worked - people that were willing to have intelligent discussion were welcomed with open arms, and we actively attacked those that tried to say we were anything less than a discussion forum.

Over time things died down. We stopped getting those members in droves, and we implemented the moderator system for the first time (yes, we had to deal with all of that without permasaging). The problem was, for all intents and purposes, solved, so a lot of us backed down and enjoyed the site. Others didn't catch on to the detente. They were too used to how we dealt with things, and for whatever reason, thought that hatred was part of our culture inherently. The moderator system, which was meant to solve the problem, seemed to only make it worse. They had nobody to yell at anymore - they had to raise their standards just to have a target.

By the way, as an aside, permasaging shouldn't be viewed as an insult, and I feel like it is. People are afraid to speak their mind because they'll just get shut down. We have a moderation system; it shouldn't be our job to call out every little thing, just because the moderators are silent. It is our job to tell them what they did wrong. Posting on the wrong board once in a while? Not really a big deal anymore. But we seem to like to pretend it still is.

That's what's happening now. We've driven away quite a few members who may have been a little silly, but not at all detrimental to the site. A little diversity is needed for a thriving community, but we seem to drive away anybody that isn't, well, us.

It's true, the internet is full of dicks and assholes. But that's the excuse you make when you have to deal with them, not when you're among them. The example I'm going to use here is 4chan - people often view them as scum, right? They shit-talk openly, are expressive and lewd... in fact if I'm not mistaken we've copied a few of their mannerisms. "OP is a faggot," "sage this shit," etc. etc.

But the hate on that site, if you actually look, is minimal. Everything is transient, and jabbing at newfags is light mocking at best. They don't have to drive them off unless they're just being completely fucking stupid. In fact, terrible behavior is commonly called out on there.
Their hatred is ironic, unless necessary.
The mistake our site and others have made is making that hatred unironic, and completely serious - we take things seriously instead of in stride, and our community has tightened up and become prudes because of it.

In fact, I would venture to say people have begun to misinterpret the thread about members being rude as a necessity. The thread's discussion clarified, at least at first, in no uncertain terms, that we mean no ill will toward the people that make mistakes. We were simply tense, not antagonistic.

Before, the sort of thing people would complain about?
"Hey dumbass, quit posting anime in the news topic."

The sort of thing people complain about now?
"omg read the FAQ you piece of shit I'm not explaining why you're wrong"
"hey everyone get a load of this dumbass"
"lol what a faggot"
"OP gtfo"
"spiderman"

The problem is the bandwagon. People seem content to just jump on the first impression they see instead of giving something any real thought, and that's what's caused this problem. It's what causes any site's downfall. Oftentimes, they get so comfortable with their practices that it just becomes standard to make fun of anyone who thinks otherwise, which makes it impossible for them to learn.

Sometimes reading the FAQ doesn't help that much, despite our efforts to make it comprehensive. If something is quite obviously in the wrong board, like video games in literature, fine, OP is kind of a fucking idiot. If someone posts a concern in the suggestions board, maybe that's not so dishonest of a problem?

The fact that we're more concerned about where a thread is located than its actual content nowadays means something. On the art thread, all you see is nearly-threatening posts stating "you better keep your art to one thread." The main board is riddled with "this doesn't belong here." It's bordering on nitpicking. And the frequency at which it happens doesn't tell me that new members are stupid, it tells me that maybe we aren't clear enough about where we want things. I gave an example on the FAQ thread earlier, about how the definition of the suggestions board was still vague after all this time.

It's been mentioned before - but it bears repeating now: What most people consider the norm now was not an arbitrary reaction. It has a reason for why it came to be, and the reason it exists is because what we tried was ineffective during the current situation.

That situation is long past. What is the norm is an outdated concept that people have kept to, because the people who put into place never told them to stop - For that matter, they never even knew there were other ways. Most of the new 'regular' members joined long after all this happened, so they didn't know anything of before and just assumed this is what happened.

They couldn't stop or revert, because there was no era for them to refer back to.

We make a big deal about how older members do not equal authority. Every member is equal, and only the content of their thoughts matter. The older members did, anyway.

Thanatos, Misuto, Insert, Forte, Divine, Etc. The biggest defining trait is not that they are older - It’s that they, as people, looked at situations more objectively and reacted accordingly. We started chill, and only when that failed repeatedly did that change. It was made clear that we didn't do it for maliciousness, but because it was what was needed to work.

Arguably, it is no longer needed to work. The shitty times that called for that stuff is more or less over now, so there's no reason for it anymore.

You can think of it as an extremely mild form of PTSD - fireworks are entirely different from ammunition, but your ingrained reaction to the sound remains the same.

The words are viable and legitimate now, but our ingrained reaction to them remain the same.

However, BBS - the members that Yata and the others enjoy remembering and referring back to have always had a single, very simple policy for anything.

If you want change, then you lead by example.

No one respects someone who will say "you should do so and so" but cannot follow what they preach. When we saw harshness was needed, we led by example. When we saw boards needed to stay bumped to remain clean, we led by example. I'd like to think that any kind of respect that any member has gained in this site has less to do with their membership date and more to do with their actions and the content of their ideas.

We are not some disconnected hierophants who make this thread or say these things like they're passed down from divine dictate for people to follow.

Like with everything we do, and everything we've done, the change we want to see - We will lead by example.

As noted, several of the members who used to constantly be around to do this don't hang around much anymore. We're not going to be right on time to all the threads. However - This is the gauntlet being thrown down.

It's no longer needed. As we were the ones responsible for creating it, we are the ones responsible for reforming it. Cruelness will sometimes still be needed, but it is by no means something that should be needed often. Not at this point.

We've gone long enough to try nice again.

There is nothing wrong with people acting like jackasses when they have a good reason to. Once again, this is not a call for niceness. It's a call for rationality.

You're allowed to be a douche if the person severally fucks up, but you have to fucking be willing to stand there and think, "hmm... Maybe I'm the wrong one?" Just because the member is newer doesn't mean they are wrong. Just because the member is a regular or older doesn't mean they are right. Take a long fucking time to think about this before being an asswipe, but remember that the morons still might deserve it. You can't take a shit on everyone who disagrees with you.

There was a point in time when the members of the site that took it upon themselves to moderate were very fair, very impartial, and only rude when they needed to be. Of course, the latter point stands out the most from an onlooker's perspective, and it caused arguments like these to surface more than once in a while.

That was the whole premise behind what we refer to as the "reason for the rude" thread. Newer members are directed to it, they see the way things are handled, and they adopt it as their own way of doing things.

This is a problem.

Contrary to what is apparently popular belief, it is not necessary to treat everything with a brutal mindset and biting tone. This should only be reserved for people that deserve it, and not every single person that makes a mistake. There are a few on here who take out unnecessary aggression on members that simply needed a slap on the wrist and a point in the right direction.

So let me clarify:
Someone posting about anime on the main board, with obvious disregard for how this site works? Might deserve blunt criticism, and a point to the FAQ thread.
Someone spamming or trolling the boards? Tear them a new one, or just ignore them completely until a ban happens.
Someone misplacing a thread by accident? Just point out their mistake. Don't treat them like the above two cases, that's just blatantly rude.

I personally keep seeing people almost trying to set the precedent of "We don't like people here. You better watch your god damned step." And while I do like that more people are stepping up to help organize the site than in the past, that's even more reason for them to back down.

The brutality was required when it was a few small voices that needed to enunciate and emphasize. We have a lot of people that stand up for the site's organization, now. The question is, is the same brutality even justified at this point anymore?

If you look at threads from way back when, if someone posted an introduction here on Random or something, they got a hello and a friendly reminder that Intro was the correct board. Now, if someone does something similar, they end up getting completely chewed out.

This almost reflexive reaction has gotten out of control, it seems. And I don't claim to be any exception—when I see yet another thread on Main complaining that the chat isn't working, my first instinct is to yell at them and swear and stuff; however, it's fairly clear that that's an overreaction. I think we should all make an effort to be nicer! :D

At the same time, though, we obviously can't just let things go without comment. If we're too nice, just telling people, "It'd be nice if you would put this in the appropriate board next time, but it's okay," they might not get the idea and think it's just a suggestion that they don't actually have any reason to comply with.

So the important thing here is to strike a balance between keeping the site organized and reacting fairly~ But that's really up to the individual at this point, at least until we come to a consensus about how tough we need to be on mistakes, dumbassery, and trolling.

There was once a time when we could kindly do things, but now it has blown out of proportion, and what used to be a kind reminder is now just derogatory words flung around. And there is definitely no reason for the brutality, unless that person is a troll who's repeatedly offended, in which case it still mightn't be reasonable to use brutality. But some people deal with their reflexive reaction. But of course, the idea of a balance is really good.

Anyway, all we just need now is a way to solve this problem by finding the balance of abuse and gentleness. Perhaps one day this problem will be solved. In the meantime, all we can do is try to steer people in the right direction, and try to keep Dollars as well as we can...

The Dollars (the group and this site) are rather important to me. I miss the days of forums and message board. I have been dicking around on the Internet since the days of early dial-up. I remember saving a bunch of website content (pics, animated gifs, text, midis, etc, but mostly pics) from my favorite pages as a precaution again Y2K. As time has progressed, I've seen drastic changes in the social norms of the global fat intrawebz. Some of these changes, mostly due to the wide-spread use of social networking and the de-evolution of such, have left a bad taste in my mouth giving me distaste for what the Internet world has become.

This site is your typical BBS, a very simple message board; believe it or not, this acts as a sort of filter (not just referring to the filtering effect of this site). Here, the behavior of users is akin to what I remember. There is no blocking, there are not hundreds of pictures, there is no popularity contest for comments, eprops, replies, reposts, etc. There are no friends, there are no groups, there is none of that useless fucking shit which acts as a poor alternative to social stimulations found IRL. Here, we are a community, forced to listen and respond to one another in order to participate in this site. It may be harder for some of the younger members here to see, but for me, I can see it clearly and it looks like the forgotten past. This is what the web used to be littered with, communities.

Networks are shit, bros; what you need is a community. This statement holds true digitally and physically.

We, as the Dollars, are able to show who we are without the idiotic repercussions and drama that follows on other sites and in other groups. We are one, united under no single cause save for goal to silently and secretively call ourselves "a member of the Dollars".

The Dollars is not good; the Dollars is not bad. The Dollars may not even be neutral. It is nothing, it is the void, the aether by which we act and discern judgement upon matters without the input of outside influences save those we allow to affect our opinions personally. The Dollars is, in a sense, pure and free.

I have an abundance of bookmarked websites and pages that I visit. I am very busy with everything that goes on in life, and therefore, never get the chance to visit my daily websites.

This is one that I open,everyday, after school is done, and I have this website open until I fall asleep.

I love this website. As a noob, I mistook this for a website/fan-site that was attempting to emulate the people from the show.

I was so wrong.

When I discovered this was a community of REAL people who wanted to make REAL changes, I finally understood. That is why, I have dedicated most of my time here to cleansing the boards, and making sure the website functions the way it is supposed to. I also enjoy the intelligent conversations we CAN have at times, and the fact that this place is another community I can escape to outside of school/life. I enjoy the time I spend here.. and honestly.. the post above couldn't have said it better when they mentioned :

I can't word it anymore magnificently than he'd mentioned.

To me the Dollars represent two things.

Firstly, an opportunity. We have many members, and with that comes a considerable amount of power. If we so wished, and we were willing to make the effort to do so, we could enact significant change through our group action, be this by illicit means or simply donating several thousand dollars to charity.

Secondly, the Dollars represent a responsibility. Believe it or not, I am one of a dying breed of older members. I watched as the site grew into something beautiful, something that meant something and was recognized elsewhere than in our realm of the internet. I also watched as it imploded, with the few core members either being driven out by wave after wave of newbie, or simply losing touch. And without their central influence we degenerated into a cesspool of lethargy and inbred anime fandom. I have recognized my part in allowing that to happen, and I now aim to bring us back to our former glory, policing the site the same way the Moon Warriors formerly did, but with one key addition. I will leave successors. When such a time comes that I leave the site, I will ensure that there are guards in place to prevent the Dollars from dissolving, assuming it has the will to carry on. By my word, as long as there is at least one caring member left, I will fight to keep the Dollars alive and healthy, and will do my utmost to educate the newbies in our ways. This is not to say I envision myself as some form of leader, just the opposite. I am merely a caretaker, a mere servant of the entity that is the dollars, but I'll be damned if I idly wait for it to die.

We tried explaining that there were no "titles" in The Dollars, but the phrases "older members", "senior members", etc. were continuously mentioned anyway. Yesterday I visited the school once more, to take my exam report. Whilst doing that, I walked around the dorm for a bit. I think it took almost an hour just reminiscing the good old days that would never come back, in just those 6 rooms with multiple beds. Some lockers are empty, some had an underwear funnily enough, some other had bathing gears (yes, multiple of them), some had clothes, towels, uni entrance selection exam preparation book, philosophy book, and the rest were locked. I found my friend's calendar written with all sorts of notes marking important days regarding the uni exam, these objects had their own little stories. The piano keyboard sitting on the charging room, the wireless keyboard and mouse set that was left there, presumably to be taken after this pandemic ends by the respective owner. I'm going to miss them all, and that weight would all be focused on the letter in the far future.

They might not outright realize what sort of golden bandwagon they're riding right now, but that sounds exactly just like me in the early days. They might experience a dilemma one day, just like Jaydon, just like Snyper, just like FindMuck, but it will be different this time.

So from looking back at the history and its current condition, what do you think is gonna happen to BBS in the future?


• I imagine it'll only get quieter going forward. It experienced some routine bursts of activity when DRRR came out, a new season came out, the english dub came out, etc. The real big influxes were early on when a bunch of sites were trying to exist around the same concept all at once and imploding rapidly. Big culture clashes and differing expectations made for a lot of squabbling.
  
  We fought pretty staunchly to shape the site's early culture as being inspired by rather than a fansite of, feeling like building a proper community would be better in the longhaul.
  
  The fact it's still around a bit over ten years later is gratifying in that sense.
  
  Slower, quieter, but the community persisted. It long outlived the fad of its creation, which is a monumental a hallmark as anything, I feel.

I believe in you guys, future regulars who are stumbling upon this. You might be Haruka, you might be Kaster, or someone else entirely. With the current life I'm leading right now, I'm not sure if I'll be around enough to help you guys out. I wouldn't say we're a ghost town. More like a small town that's just a lil busy. We get a good flow of strangers on the daily, and some of them stick around. Some stick around for a couple days, a few weeks, a few months, or even years. We're just a community like any other, and our heart hasn't stopped beating yet. -zengat

Now seriously, I actually kind of appreciate the slow pace of this community. I'm not a very socially-oriented person myself, so when communities get big enough I usually find myself drifting off, because eventually I just can't keep up with it.

Now would I be against this site growing? Absolutely not, I think it still has a long way to go before reaching that critical point. But I still do appreciate what we have right now.

For me, the fun of this place is that you just talk to the abyss and, from time to time, the abyss talks back and you can hold a nice conversation for a while.

It's much too easy to point out a problem compared to actually putting forward a solution. It's ludicrous to perceive it otherwise.

Telling people what you think is wrong does nothing to fix it. All it does is shift the responsibility to someone else, until there's no one left to take the blame.

Excuses mean nothing in this matter, every person has one. If you're just going to fall back on that, then you have no room to complain, you should understand why things are the way they are.

TLDR This a hobby for most, not a priority. Ain't nobody making time for that.

(also worth noting just how many people have tried taking on these responsibilities and got burnt out from lack of support. It takes not just determination, but endurance as well.)

Asuiro ClearSky is potentially my next "Futaridake no Curtain Call" and not without reason.

It has an 'insert song' vibe in the beginning, the reff sounded a lot like Fairy Tail's frontier theme that usually set your willpower in flames to persevere through obstacles and reach the best possible future you could attain.

All in all, a really good song. Also, Towa is singing among those voices in unison. Yeah, I'm biased. Nah just kidding, I didn't even know Towa was singing among them until I look at the credits.

Hololive's last year MVP is definitely Kirameki Rider, personally speaking. But they really outdid themselves this year, the MVP is either Suspect, Adtruck, Hanafubuki, or ClearSky. I mean all 10 was great of course, but these 4 are great-great. Just my opinion though, don't take it as facts. That's all!

A painting of Paris by Vincent van Gogh, which has almost never been seen by the public after being stashed within a French family's private collection for more than a century, has finally been unveiled. Acquired by a French collector in 1920, it has remained hidden ever since and never been shown in public despite being listed in seven catalogues.

Titled "Scène de rue à Montmartre" which translates into "Street scene in Montmartre", Van Gogh painted it in the spring of 1887. It shows Parisians walking through a rural and sparse landscape in Montmartre, the entrance of the Moulin de la Galette enclosure topped with decorative lanterns and a carousel behind a wooden fence, and the Moulin Dubray or Moulin à Poivre, a Montmartre windmill destroyed in 1911.

Van Gogh expert Martin Bailey said that "This is the first time we are able to see it properly. Small reproductions have been made in the past, often in black-and-white. But the most exciting part is that it is Van Gogh painting which has been hidden away ever since it came off the artist's easel. It has always been in private collections, so only the owners and their friends knew it."

The painting is set to go on public display for the first time, exhibited in London, Amsterdam and Paris before being sold by Sotheby’s auction in Paris. It is expected to fetch between 5 million euros and 8 million euros ($6 million and $9.7 million) when it goes under the hammer in March.

The work is part of a series of works representing the famed Moulin de la Galette, a windmill turned into a dance hall in Montmartre. The district is still popular among tourists and locals for its village feel, but the surrounding streets have been built up and now bear little resemblance to the scene in the painting.

For some reason I still couldn't somewhat comprehend, I can't stop staring at the artwork attached.

Whether its because of how the girl stares into the view, or the glistening pool in the background, or the hair band she's biting, or long her hair that reaches the floor (and that's bound to get hassling in some occasion, but its just a drawing so)

We finally arrived at the waterfall at 15:39 or so iirc, deep within the area of coal mines, the roads are still dirt and few heavy machinery & trucks are passing around.

It might not look like it in the original photo, but the green-painted wooden paths blends really well with the tree leaves, closest thing that resembled its beauty would be the green jade stone. Remember the interior of Kung Fu Panda's temple? Yeah something like that.

The wooden paths looked more broken down the closer I get to the waterfall. People clearly tried to tame the place, but nature stays unshackled. There's a remain of a room near the waterfall, some sort of what was once a canteen I believe. Its entire roof was folded inside, blocking the upper part of the only entrance. I'd bet a tree fell on top of it some time ago.

Then comes the waterfall, it was huge. I feel like we had severely underestimated the scale of things, I remember how awed I was when I had to physically look upwards just to see the waterfall properly. And then it hit me, this is not the biggest waterfall in the world. I can only imagine how people felt with Niagara.

One and half a day of a trip, just to see the waterfall for an hour or so, or even less. We went to the designated spot of our resting place for the night just before 17:00 soon after. Can't blame them though, the current is getting stronger so we had to opt out. My ear hurts a bit, I don't know whether it was because of the loud sound or the water drops slowly piled up inside them. Yeah, I didn't swim lol.
