Pandora Hearts is one of the most amazing mangas that I have ever read, to be frank. The art perfectly goes back and forth between very cute to very dark to fit with the situation. Admittedly, though, the first arc of the story is very decieving. However, as you get farther along, the story gets deeper and darker. Of course, you get perfectly placed gag episodes along the way, but even during those, that undertone is there. You can just feel the deeper aspects of the story coming together.
I have never read a manga with so many goddamn plot twists. You will WHAT THE FUCK!? so many times throughout this manga. All the characters you loved, you will hate, then you will love, and then you will hate them again. Everything you hear is a lie. Or is it? You'll never know. Things go from being lies to truth to lies to truth again. The manga can be confusing as fuck at times, but it's just so... Just trust me. You will never want to put it down. Everything is just so perfect in this manga.
_______________________________________________________________ Plot I'll try my best not to spoil, but that doesn't mean you can come back and say I lied to you about who is who and what is what. It's not my fault they suddenly decided to switch all the characters around in this final arc.

Oh hey, I was literally just about to comment this in the 'genuinely good manga' thread and then I saw this! Hard agree, the series was very honestly a bit of a life-changing ride for me. Oz and Alice are extremely relatable and compelling, and the way their personal issues get worked through over the course of the story are simply incedible. Jun Mochizuki very clearly has a firm grasp on how to portray and talk about complex emotional themes like depression, self-loathing, loneliness, abandonment, crisis of identity and parasocial relationships. The world is stupendously immersive, especially if you find yourself relating with the protagonists on any level.
At its core, it's fundamentally a very unique twist on your typical easternized Alice in Wonderland retelling. The key concepts and characters are represented in uniquely different ways that work wonderfully with the story the author is telling all the way up through the end. Plus its all capped off by the author's amazing artstyle, and while the final arc was definitely a bit trippy, it didn't really lose the plot at all in my opinion. 10/10 read from start to finish, and one I definitely need to read again with friends sometime.

Is the anime just as good? I was thinking of watching the anime, but if the anime doesn't do the manga justice, then I will read the mandga

Its been almost a year since i found this one manhwa but i cant remember the name. Back then it was only 1 or 2 chapters but it was about a girl with short brown/gold hair that pretended to be poor at school and got kinda bullied by a tall black haired boy (probably the ml). Everyday the girl goes back home with dirty clothes and hair and her servants always take care of her. One day, and idk how, but the bully from her school comes to work at her house or smth, and he realizes that the girl was lying all along. Basically, he has to be nice to her, someone he hates. I figured if i had any chance of finding the manhwa, itd be on this website. If you know anything similar to this, please tell me. It just wont get off my mind because i cant remember the girls name, i just know her name was similar to someone i know.
I don't know the title of that manhwa you're referring to, but I got curious while you were trying to narrate the story. I hope you remember it or someone else and please add the title.
I don't wanna see overrated or overly popular manga like Chainsawman, Berserk or Attack on Titan. Yes, Berserk and AOT are good, but they aren't as good as they're made out to be and everyone knows of them.
Post a cover or a nice mangapanel, tell us the name of the manga, and convince us why we should read it.
Thread for people to share recent thoughts about any series that falls under the shojo/josei category (aka female oriented). Classic shojo series are welcome (e.g. Ao Haru Ride, Orange), as are villainess isekai manhwa (e.g Roxana, Villains are Destined to Die).
Rec a series, bash a series, or just vent about how stupid the ML and FLs are. Anything is welcome.
I have no intention to read the books, but I do want to know how it differs from the anime. Yes, just spoil it, explain the differences and timeline. It's far too confusing for someone to jump right into.
I finished the GOU anime in 2 nights, 7 episodes one night and 17 the other night. It was bloody fantastic, almost a masterpiece. I loved how you could watch parts of it like it's own separate thing and then the second half brings the whole picture together. I can't wait to Binge SOTSU. Gonna buy the blu ray and watch it that way, I could stream it since I have the service, but this is too good to simply stream, I must own my own copy.
Tokyo Ghoul is set in an alternate reality where ghouls, creatures that look like normal people but can only survive by eating human flesh, live among the human population in secrecy, hiding their true nature in order to evade pursuit from the authorities. Ken Kaneki is an ordinary college student, until one terrifying night changes his life forever. After getting attacked by these monsters, he's turned into the first hybrid, "Artificial One Eyed Ghoul" during an organ transplant. Trapped between two worlds, Kaneki has learn to blend into human society and also survive being a ghoul.
It is so absurd from the get-go, so outrageous just from the title and its cover. Very distinct and iconic, I mean its a MAN, and then CHAINSAWS on both of his arms and his face.
Have you read it? What do you think of it? Have you not? Then what the hell are you waiting for!?

I don't really like to read, but these are the comics that I like, so I'm waiting for an anime based on them.
I have read it, at first I didn't like the protagonist's personality he seemed pretty dumb, but then Makima happened and I started reading till date. The story was pretty awesome and crazy to read. Pretty interesting "what I though" was the ending(we all know it's still ongoing). But we can all agree who could have though making this guy with chainsaws in his arms and head being such a simp, would be so fun.
Also *SPoilers ahead maybe*
In the new arc the war demon is kinda cool, wanna see where it can get that idea.
got introduced to this manga through a friend either this month or the last, but i ate it up in less than a week, it was so good!! i love the style and story and everything about it, especially how the author writes emotional scenes.
*TALK OF PART 2 AHEAD*
i personally dont like part 2 so far, because it seems like Denji is back to square 0 in his character development, but hopefully it redeems itself for me soon. besides Denji i really like Asa and im glad we get to see more of Hirofumi Yoshida!! i think hes really cool, and if he becomes friends with Denji maybe Denji could have a new friendship to focus on instead of being obsessed with being Chainsaw Man.
I noticed that most of you here discuss only manga, I'm here to introduce good comics to you. Here's a cute slice of life comic, I think it's easily accessible to anyone.
Perfect time to start the Black Lagoon manga, finally new chapter next month!
The series follows the Lagoon Company, a four-member team of pirate mercenaries smuggling goods in and around the seas of Southeast Asia with their PT boat, the Black Lagoon. The group takes on various jobs, usually involving criminal organizations and resulting in violent gunfights.
Highly recommend the anime, 2 seasons and a 5 episode OVA, and english dub, but your choice. Think, if Quentin Tarantino made an anime.
