For me its Shigofumi, I loved this anime and I've rewatched it several times.

Psycho-Pass is my favorite Anime!!! I've asked around at school if anyone has heard of it or watched it, and only one person out of alot has seen it. It's a really awesome Anime, it's too bad no one watches it. Shogo is my favorite character~

adding to my comment above Baccano! is not really underrated. Not many people have seen it is what i'm getting at but really everyone who's seen it thinks it's amazing and the anime-reviewing YouTube channels emphasize that this show is perfection. Granted it is confusing af but after watching it 2 or 3 times (which is easy bc it's only 16 episodes side note WATCH IT DUBBED) you can grasp the show really well. I could ramble on a lot longer about this since it's my favorite anime but I'm just telling people to watch it. I love the story so much and the characters are its best quality.

I believe mine has to be Kamigami no Asobi.

Digimon Tamers comes to my mind. It certainly is not the best anime out there, but it has some very dark and complex themes that it explores pretty well.
I think many people ignore it or say it is worse than the other Digimon seasons because it is primarily a show for children or because it changed a lot in comparison to the first two seasons.
When I found out that it was made by the same people who did Lain I was not even that surprised.^^

Kure-Nai is pretty quiet. It's a character driven show about this rich girl and her bodyguard, it has a drama/slice-of-lifey feel to it, the visuals are stunning and the dialogue is great.

Too often shows like this don't get picked up in the West and I can't see why not. I don't know about the viewer base but this is definitely underrated in a commercial sense. The only way to find it is to buy the DVD release. No airing, no dub.

For me, it's No. 6.
I mean it's great and all, but the people I ask don't even know the existence of this anime. It actually hurts me when we'd talk about sci-fi animes and I'd mention this anime then they'd be like "What's that?"
It's really good so I don't understand why less people watch it.

Noragami's underrated... Baccano! is defo underrated. Durarara!! Gurren Lagann, Terror in Resonance, and a lot more that I'm forgetting.

I'd have to say xxxHolic and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, but moreso the latter. It's a dark comedy with lots of pretty girls (o´▽`o)

Legend of the Legendary Heroes. Try not to judge it by its name because it is a good series. It comes off as cliche sometimes. The manga didn't have too much to offer.

Bokurano is also an underrated one. While I admit that the anime isn't something to brag about, the manga...is amazing. Even the anime can bring a few emotions but the manga is just sad.

underrated anime are usually ones that lots of people are not watching, just because only a few people at your school might be watching said anime does not immediately make an anime underrated, you have to look beyond the school gates and look on forums and the like.

I know some of these were pretty popular when they came out, but I think they should have become classics but didn't.

K Project, Karneval, Code Geass, 07-Ghost, and Natsume's Book of Friends are some I can think of.

Has to be Zankyou no Terror/Terror in Resonance, I find that not many people have watched it, and some of those who do don't really appreciate it that much. I'm not sure about you guys and what you think, but I found it a very beautiful anime, my favourite at that.

Oh, and k/k project and k: return of kings is a really good underrated anime. Slightly confusing plot at first but the characters and animation make it all worth while (In my opinion)

Terror in resonance was great....its ending was definitely the best i couldve hoped for

Recently I watched an anime which I thought was very underrated called Shinsekai Yori (English name: From the New world). It's very interesting and different and has made its way onto my top 5 list; I suggest you all give it a try.

K Project, Zankyou no Terror (Terror in Resonance) and No.6 are ones of my favourites, but all of them are Worthing more popularity. I really liked Kokoro Connect, too - and I think it isn't popular enough either.

In my personal opinion, Ajin: Demi Human (2016) is too hella underrated just because it's a CGI anime. To be honest, it did kill my eyes at the first second episode, but other than that it's actually a really great anime with great storyline and... uncommon main protagonist

GINTAMA!!!! Everyone I recommend this too won't even watch more than threee episodes. They don't know that they missing out on the anime that is the jack of all trades. It is the most hilarious as well as one of the most serious animes I have ever seen (with tons of action later on). I just wish someone I know would give it a chance.

S-cry-ed. Really good 2005 show that never got the big following even though its capture this anime fans heart (being my first anime in my life) Just don't read the manga as the story was completely rewritten to make it the masterpiece it was made into.

I'm going to say Shinsekai Yori, again. I think it's either episode 5 or 9, but you'll know when they get to it (I think they're 14) of which makes sense in the plot, but it gets a bit too weird for my liking. But aside from the seemingly forced yaoi and yuri (it felt a bit unnatural), it's definitely worth a watch. Look it up.

Personally I think Death Parade is pretty underrated. I mean it has a good plot and good meaning within and the characters are pretty cool too! The OP is awesome I will say. Well just check it out wwwwww

I think Natsume Yuujinchou doesn't get as much love as it deserves. It has a very calm and easy going pace but I does have nice characters and a very intriguing and awe inspiring plot line. It is definitely one of my favorites.

Eden of the East... perhaps. It was a really flawed series, but damn if I didn't enjoy it all the way down to it's nonsensical climax.

I picked up an anime called Haibane Renmei from my library a little while back. It was basically this really ambiguous show about people who are born into a new world (possibly some kind of purgatory a la Angel Beats) as Haibane - winged people, who are bound by some bizarre rules within the small, gated town where they now live. Show pretty much just takes you through their world, not really explaining anything about what it's purpose is or why Haibane exist, but simply taking you through their lives and letting you draw your own conclusions about what it might all mean.

I haven't seen much discussion about it online, and it seems to have gone under the radar of most people. Those who have seen it seem to regard it pretty highly.

In my opinion, Terror in Resonance is an underrated anime. It has an interesting and realistic plot. It's one of those rare realistic fiction anime, with riddles that makes it more interesting. The animation is really good and the soundtrack is amazing. Despite the number of episodes and the series could've been a bit longer. Nonetheless, it had a wonderful ending.

The anime is ok. The manga is a masterpiece.
But, it's still underrated.

Aldnoah.zero is not super underrated but I feel like it should be more popular based on how good it is. The art style is amazing and even though the ending was not exactly on par with how good the rest of the show was, it still deserves more attention than it has...

Personally, I feel that Hunter X Hunter has been underrated. I feel that most people know 'of' it but not 'know' it for its entirety. I've met so many that has dismissed it as "another-Naruto" and as "the-series-that-never-updates." However, I feel that the series has been able to explore some rather complex and relevant themes, even if only in the passing (ex. a single mention in a single line).

I honestly think that toradora did not get a whole lot of attention. It's not my favorite anime, but it is still pretty good though.

In my case, I think Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai(aka AnoHana) and Barakamon didn't get the attention they deserve... Well, AnoHana has a movie and Barakamon's prequel, Handa-kun is airing right now...
These two really gives you hope and makes you feel better !

mekakucity actors, anohana, ranpo kitan: game of laplace, bungou stray dogs, charlotte, death parade, k (or k-project), no. 6, shinsekai yori, and zankyou no terror are all pretty underrated but i gave them 10/10s because the plot/characters were all really great !!

Mmm,Claymore for sure, nobody has mentioned it, is cool af, and pretty much the only anime I've watched where girls actually fight, a lot of suffering too, 10/10
