I've thought about it, but I can't find any cartoon characters I have a particular attachment to. So then, in not a very particular order, my favorite animated people at the moment:

- Edward from FMA - never had fangirl feelings for him, but he was an awesome kid, liked his resolve and watching him grow; partial towards the angsty version.

- Spike from Cowboy Bebop - honestly, no one will ever be as cool as him.
- Katsura from Gintama - because ja nai, Katsura da! I love this guy, he's a special kind of special, but underneath the funny he has a very kind and noble nature.
- Gintoki from Gintama - he's lazy, he's a good for nothing, but he's actually just living his life the way he wants to, and he's still fighting the good fight; he also saved the day with his penis once.
- Natsume from Natsume Yuujinchou - he's the most endearing kid, makes me want to be a nicer person.
- Kanda from D.Gray-man - perfection in a hard shell of jerk; I'm more familiar with manga Kanda but he's a flawless badass in all incarnations; I like a lot of thins about him, #1 jerk with a heart of gold, even if that gold is very little and very deep.
- Takemoto from Honey and Clover - I am him and he is me, and every other person trying to find their way in life; everything he went through hit pretty close to home.
- Jin and Mugen from Samurai Champloo - it's humanly impossible for me to choose just one, they are complementary badasses.
- and since I feel guilty for not having any female characters I'm gonna go with Yoko from Gurren Lagann because she's not just very hot, but also a great person and she grows and matures a lot along the way.

3. Richard from Looking For Group. He makes everything so much more interesting, even if it does involve killing people.

-I don't use this word often but she's fuckin' kawaii.

*THE MEDICINE SELLER (Ayakashi and its spin-off, Mononoke) - The main character from an unusual anime. I find him mysterious, fascinating, pretty, and undeniably badass.
*ORIHARA IZAYA (Durarara!!) - I think he's a terribly interesting character with surprising depth (especially if you've read the novels), though he's a total jerk a lot of the time. Doesn't hurt that he's also quite handsome. <3
*HAZAMA/YUUKI TERUMI (BlazBlue) - Yet another troll. I actually almost hate him (but I can't really). He's the type who will speak to you with mocking politeness and veiled sarcasm while secretly screwing you over behind your back, then laugh and taunt you about it for the rest of your life. He's a complete monster with no redeeming qualities who ruins everyone's lives for the lulz and destroys the world over and over again via time loop, but he's also one stylish, sexy (when not being completely psycho and creepy), funny, badass character.
*HEIWAJIMA SHIZUO (Durarara!!) - Underneath that short temper and monstrous strength, he really has a good heart.
*ISAAC AND MIRIA (Baccano!) - Because you really can't list one without the other. This duo is just an absolute joy to watch. Hilarious, cheerful, strange, they always brighten my day with their antics.
*KURAMA (Yu Yu Hakusho) - This character holds a special place in my heart because he...was my first anime crush. XD It's also the first anime that I really got into and watched all the way through, so really, this entire anime is very dear to me.
*HEI (Darker Than Black) - I seem to like two-faced characters. Hei's a character I can't forget. His kind, innocent facade and his seemingly cold, ruthless side with hidden depth...I love them both.
*UCHIHA ITACHI (Naruto) - Because he is the only reason I even watch or read this series anymore.
*KURASHITA TSUKIMI (Princess Jellyfish) - An otaku girl in a funny but touching anime about otaku and um, a crossdressing guy (really, it's a very good series). xD Some of her traits remind me of myself at times, though more extreme. She's not pretty (without makeup at least) and is horribly insecure. Unique in the world of anime where everyone seems to be lovely no matter what, even if they're said to be otherwise, or unless they're drawn purposely hideous.
*YATOGAMI KUROH (K) - I immediately liked Kuroh upon his very first appearance. He's turned out to be loyal, caring and protective of his friends, amusing, strong...and quite gorgeous.

Before I start, the main reasons I love these characters so much is because of their voices. I love voice acting and these characters wouldn't have been anywhere near as amazing if it weren't for their voice actors.
1. Alucard (Hellsing Ultimate) - I chose the Ultimate one because even though he was pretty cool in the original anime, he just felt more demonic and closer to the character in the manga in Ultimate. I love that he doesn't care who he kills so long as he's given the order to. He will do anything to make sure the mission is a success and he is masterfully voiced by Crispin Freeman, one of the best voice actors in the anime industry.
2. Shizuo Heiwajima (Durarara!!) - Mainly because of that voice, Crispin Freeman does it again.
3. Roy Mustang (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) - Travis Willingham
4. Izaya Orihara (Durarara!!) - Johnny Yong Bosch
5. Maes Highes (Fullmetal Alchemist/Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) - Sonny Strait, also... That death scene :'(
6. Death the Kid (Soul Eater) - Todd Haberkorn
7. Ryuk (Death Note) - Brian Drummond
8. Broly (Dragon Ball Z Movies 8, 10 and 11) - Vic Mignogna (I just love this character, don't know why but he's my favourite DBZ character even though it's just senseless screaming and maniacal laughter)

10. Bardock + Vegeta (Dragon Ball Z) - Sonny Strait and Chris Sabat (Couldn't decide between the two. Big DBZ fan and these two are my favourites that are part of the main canon, even though Bardock is never mentioned or referenced during the series or manga, quite a lot of people consider him canon, including me.)

1. Kurama, from Yu Yu Hakusho. He has this perfect blend of reason and emotion. I'm always amazed and inspired by that when I watch Yu Yu Hakusho.

2. Shiki Ryougi, from Kara no Kyoukai. In addition to simply being awesome, she's an intriguing character. I like how so many of the elements in Kara no Kyoukai work back around into making sense of who she is.

3. Ginko, from Mushi-Shi. Honestly, it's really just the fact that he seeks to understand mushi and acknowledges that they're not inherently bad, but are just living their lives like everything else that drew me to him.

4. Luke fon Fabre, from Tales of the Abyss (the game; I haven't seen the anime rendition). He's an enjoyable character (once you get past the first third of the game). Also, he gets a ton of points in my book for having very well done character development over the course of the game.

5. Kagome Higurashi, from Inuyasha. She's one of the best examples (if not THE best example) I have seen in anime of self-understanding AND self-acceptance with regard to (primarily) romantic relationships.

6. Urumi Kanzaki, from Great Teacher Onizuka. Like Kurama, she has a good balance of logic and emotion. And she just ends up enjoying life so much that it makes her fun to watch.

7. Holo and Lawrence, from Spice and Wolf. I love their chemistry. Yeah, they're two people, but I don't care.

8. Tetsunosuke Ichimura, from Peacemaker Kurogane. He had to deal with huge emotional trauma. Not only did he overcome his own trauma, but he helped another character do the same, and I find that very admirable and impressive.

9. Mayushii, from Steins;Gate. I find her really endearing because of how she's always so sweet and kind, and it feels very genuine.

10. Kuja, from Final Fantasy IX. Honestly, I just really love his character and his character design.

10.Ren Tsuruga People complain about Skip beat's artwork, but i think if you're truly a fan of books, you'd ignore the art(although it gradually gets better)and just focus on the hilarious storyline. Ren makes Kyoko act all crazy weird and i think it's funnnyyyyy.

2-Saito Hajime (Hakuouki) So badass and beautiful. He's one of the stronger of the Shinsengumi, he's pretty reserved and can be as cold as sweet.

7. Quatre Raberba Winner(Mobile Suit Gundam Wing)
Basically my first ever contact with Japanese anime besides pokemon or digimon. I feel like Quatre isn't usually the favorite of our five heros but personally i thought he was dope AF. Spoilers He's the only one that can successfully use the zero system and coordinate the battle fuck yeah. Honorables: Duo, Trowa, Hero, Chang Wufei, the Death Scythe, Sandrock, Wing Gundam, Heavy Arm, Shenlong.

8. Shuhei Hisagi (Bleach)
So i just kinda liked him from the get go. Not much to say really, just got a good feeling from him right off the start when he was first introduced. 9. Trafalgar Law (One Piece)
