A young celestial mage, Lucy Heartfilia, runs away from home and travels to the land of Fiore to join the magical Fairy Tail Guild. Along the way, she meets Natsu Dragneel, a teenage boy looking for his foster parent, a dragon named Igneel, with his best friend, Happy the cat. Shortly after their meeting, Lucy is abducted by Bora of Prominence, who was posing as Salamander of Fairy Tail, to be sold as a slave. Natsu rescues her and reveals that he is the real Salamander of fairy tail and has the skills of a Dragon Slayer, an ancient fire magic. He offers her membership into the guild, which she gladly accepts, they along with Erza Scarlet -Armored maiden, Gray Fullbuster -Ice Maker, and Happy become a team performing various missions offered to the Fairy Tail guild.

This anime is quite interesting. It is not a complete anime but I'm sure you'll enjoy the anime. It currently has 277 chapters and 124 episodes.

Fairy Tail is pretty good. Not my number one anime/manga, but it's up there. Lucy, the main character, definitely has her annoying points. However, the rest of the cast is very interesting. They really make the whole guild seem like a family. It's very humorous, and the story is rather interesting. I really, really love the idea of the dragon slayers. I can't wait until we learn more about it :O

In case you're curious and haven't read/watched it/caught onto this yet, the name of the guild "Fairy Tail" in this anime is a play on words, just like the site's name. As is said in the first few episodes/chapters, the point is similar to what follows: "Do fairy's have tails? Nobody has seen one before, so nobody knows." So calling something a Fairy Tail is like a pardox. That was combined with the term "fairy tale", the term for children's fantasies. And that ties into the fact that nobody really understands Fairy Tail's true strength until they're face to face with them.

Both the anime and manga of Fairy Tail are ongoing. The manga chapters are released really quickly (great subbing group doing the current chapters), but the episodes are quite a bit slower. The storyline in the manga just hit a major plot twist a month or two ago, and I'm not sure if the anime will follow through with it once it's caught up.

I reccomend this to anyone who likes fantasy/magic/dragons.

Um.. That's little bit wrong. FT has 334 chapters and 175 episodes. there is 4 special episodes. the anime is currently on break.

I want the days where fairy tail were fairy tail...
No matter how child-ish they act or how the plot is st*pid(from what haters point of view) I couldn't stop watching it *^* , the soundtrack got me from the series, even now they still do a good job at it. However, I miss the old style, they look way more sharper, the outlines are very simple and thick, also there some lazy animators in the studio of Fairy tail... The latest episode were we watchLucy was in the empty bright golden field, suddenly Natsu and the guilds came by with that (evil) dark face. Natsu says "Take my hand" while the rest of the guild they're all shadows, which makes the audience think it's a trap or something... But it's the animators, they were just lazy. *sigh*

Hmm. I really like this anime, but if you're looking for a good plot/story line, this is just really repetitive.

Tries too hard to be like One Piece imo. Not that One Piece is the greatest show ever or anything, but it's still better than Fairy Tail. To be fair, they are both very repetetive, and so is my favorite anime, Detective Conan. I tend to go for shorter anime so I can get a bunch of good stories rather than one or two really long and drawn out ones. Remember folks, this is just my personal opinion. We don't have to agree on everything. It's impossible really.

Eh, I won't say I didn't enjoy it, but after reading some 410 chapters, I realized that despite character arcs beginning and ending, absolutely no actual plot development had occurred, and aside from addingore and more characters to the cast, nothing really had changed from the beginning of the series, even taking into account several considerable time skips that ultimately amounted to basically the phrase "we slept a long time, huh?", certainly a fun ride, but not one I'd particularly be interested in undertaking a second time
