What is your favorite yaoi anime?

Well im straight; but I do give yaoi animes a chance. Every single one I have ever seen I thought was crap EXCEPT for Junjou Romantica; Junjou Romantica is the shit!

I find most yaoi anime to be either overly dramatic or lacking in the artistic area. I still enjoy some of them... Like I found the "Junjou Egoist" segments of Junjou Romantica were fun. The Romantica parts were cool too I just hated that other pair >.>;;

So sad that BLU shutdown so now the manga is discontinued in the US until another publishing company picks it up.
FAKE is my favorite, it's what started my yaoi addiction even though it's shounen-ai.
Finder is amazing though, I love the story and the art. Yamane-sensei is god.

The creator of Junjou Romantica likes to put a lot cliche plots such as the uke always avoiding the seme. Espsecially in Sekaiichi Hatsukoi. Each story seems..... i dunno... the same to me. I just get bored of reading it, but I still love the series! :)

Well, Junjou was my first anime ever, so I'll always have a soft spot for it, but quite honestly it kinda sucks- art style is awkward, no solid plot, et cetera. Sekaiichi Hatsukoi, though, was much better- a better variety in pairings c:

I love the Loveless manga too, but I think the anime was AMAZING... There first kiss- I was like "OH. MY. GOD." Other than it's ending, always thought of it as my favorite anime. It's so poetic and the music sounds so sensual & calming, and all the characters are just so darn cute!!!

But the manga takes so long in updates. :( felt like a new chapter came out every 6 months!

I love Sakuraga Mei's Yaoi series hers are my favorite.It's just like Junjou Romantica they focus on 3 couples but they're in their own series. Yuuki-chan and Shinome, Mikado and Towa, and My favorite Nanao-san and Aikawa \(*o*)/ What's funny is that Nanao-san's little brother is Mikado and Aikawa's little brother is Towa. :p

Hm... Well, maybe 2 years ago, I was searching for a good romance anime to watch. I couldn't find anything interesting and so right when I thought I would never find another one to watch, I found Junjou Romantica. So then I clicked the link and saw 'Yaoi'. and was like, 'What's yaoi?' (blasphemy, I know...) I looked up what that was and then I decided to watch out of curiosity... and that's why I'm into yaoi today! I generally like to read manga more than anime and have found a plethora of good ones, yaoi and shounen-ai alike. Generally the manga with good plots and pacing are the ones I enjoy the most.

my first yaoi anime is Junjou Romantica and it is the best i've ever seen. some anime have the hint of boyxboy in it and i pretty like on making ship. the last anime i watched is Owari no Seraph. I saw many hints of boyxboy there, even the author said it was 'family' relationship. i just couldnt help myself to ship two awesome boys lol

My contribution: Kachou no Koi. Single OVA, it's hilarious.

Hey, Class President! Smutty yaoi, three OVAs. We got ourselves a Mr. Perfect, Mr. Nice Guy, and a pervert, and some sexy scenes. :P

Vassalord, 1 OVA. There isn't any sex (in manga or OVA) but I wouldn't tag it as Shounen-Ai, there's blood sucking and it's pretty sexy. The first few chapters of manga are pretty confusing and OVA begins at the same place as the manga so it's a bit confusing but it's still pretty great. It's all about vampires, vampire/cyborg priests, and monster hunting.

A Foreign Love Affair, 2 OVAs. The art is by Yamane (she did Crimson Spell and ViewFinder) and this is a really bad comedy. Japanese yakuza x Italian captain and there's all types of steamy plot and decent action, but the comedy... you'll definitely laugh is all I'll say.

Embracing Love, 2 OVAs. Two pornography stars fall in love. I actually really love this story, the manga is absolutely brilliant, defintely worth watching.

Winter Cicada, 1 OVA. This one is interesting because it's actually a movie in the Embracing Love manga that the two main characters starred in and it got made into it's own OVA which is cool... it's also a really sad story, it's a tragic romance historical fiction.

The style is becoming unbearable with every post.
Yaoi anime is just not for me.

The Tyrant Falls in Love, 2 OVAs. More rape! But this one is actually funny and the plot is great. The title kinda says it all for what this one is about.

This Boy Caught a Merman, 1 OVA. Better story then the rock one even if it just a Shounen-Ai.
There is no beating me, when it comes to animated BLs I am always on top.

Fake, 1 OVA. This ones about cops. It's not exactly a yaoi due to the fact that the main characters don't have sex until like the very end of the manga and definitely not in this OVA, but they do kiss and they bring up having sex together quite frequently, the romance really takes its time in this one.
I do really enjoy the story though, although Neko's probably going to complain again about the dated art style and animation. I just like the older yaoi. T-T

This one here is about a boy who founds a merman and bring him home with him to leave in his tub. It's call Orenchi No Furo jijou, it's not really yaoi, more like a shonen-ai but it's very cute and with some funny parts. There's both manga and anime.

Tight Rope, 2 OVA. We got the son of a yakuza and his best friend/love interest. It's got some nice action scenes and some steamy ones. ;P

I recently found out Golden Days by Takao Shigeru was recently completely scanlated and would really recommend it!

It's a period drama/slice of life/mystery story with a shounen ai romance plot. It probably wouldn't be son interesting if you're looking for hot love stories or whatever, but its actually really good. The main relationship is really well developed and hearbreaking.

They're not mainstream. Just unknowns with dreadful art style. And people have no idea what makes a good yaoi romance. Otherwise they wouldn't have picked junjou romantica, of all things (shame on you self-proclaimed fujoshis who only know how to squeal at this title). The best yaoi manga are the ones from little-known mangakas and some of them are even self-published. No studio is going to bother scouring the treasure trove.
And the voice actors in yaoi anime are just so fucking horrible. It's not that their acting are entirely bad, it just doesn't match the animation at all.

Compared to that, shounen ai animations, while few in number, are much more well done. Like hell it's a simple "I want to be friends with you" shounen ai is a prelude. It gives people dream and imagination to continue the plot in their heads. It makes people ask "what's going to happen after this?" unlike yaoi that just ends when the anime ends.

Already agreed though that the animation sucked... however, it's the inside that matters. Judging by appearances alone would lead to a lot of disappointment. I mean if you look at Kachou no Koi everyone moves like paper cut outs, but it's still one of the best yaoi anime I've ever seen. (BTW never said Junjou Romantica was good, I was just pointing out how popular it is to others and its still shitty animation.)

Appearance is important. Not exactly important as in good looking, but as in whether they can integrate it well with other parts such as voice, plot, etc.
Kachou no koi is well integrated because the qualities of plot, animation, and voice acting match well. Others, not so much. This basically means they butcher whatever good qualities the yaoi have in manga version.

Let's just tear our hearts into pieces with Hybrid Child. Three different stories about androids that grow with love. There are 4 OVA. I've only ever read the manga and I just remember the ending being super sad, but the story was really good.
